Hendo is speaking for the bookies again. Apparently, Hendo is considering running Jonbon in The Bowl at Aintree next week alongside hotpot Jango Baie. Hendo ran Jonbon in The Ryanair at Cheltenham despite indicating the horse would be heading for The Melling Chase post his hard race at Ascot previously. Jonbon is 11/8 for The Melling Chase.

Why does Hendo repeatedly run his charges in the wrong race eg Jonbon (Ryanair) & Lulamba (Arkle). He ruined Altior running him at Ascot on testing ground and a new trip of 2m 4f.

Punters contribute to the funding of racing but owners pay the lions share.

Imp, I can't fancy either of Henderson's for Aintree - I think they've left their races at Ascot/Cheltenham.

Impossible I guess that he thinks it’s easy prize money given the likely opponents?

Plus Jonbon isn’t getting any younger. Surprised he’d run Jango after a hard race but Nichols used to go there with his Conti non stayer after the Gold Cup.

First time last year on good at Aintree and he coped fine , best RPR , so a step up this year on same ground at his age might be the right time .

Impossible as three are dual entered Jonbon, Impare, Grey, the races are also likely to cut up.

There just aren’t enough quality horses for the races.

JP insisted Fact To File ran in the King George at Kempton despite Mr Mullins primed Gaelic Warrior for the race. As a result the main prize eluded either.

I think with Jonbon having had two consecutive hard races to go up in trip again is bonkers to me. But, Hendo is being Hendo. Hendo ought to advertise for Confused.com.

I've learned that scum like you (in your case you've returned after a hiatus) have grown in numbers on this forum with the resurgeance in right wing racist beliefs.
I'd bet a good sum that you're also on Tw4tter, spewing the same racist bile day in day out.

Hendo has done a runner with Jonbon after all despite the horse was doubly entered at Aintree. The statement Hendo made about Jonbon could be up in trip was purely bookie-talking (his sponsor) and utter nonsense. His reason for the horse's absence at Aintree is that the horse has had two consecutive hard races and was a bit flat at Cheltenham.

I hope not many were sucked-in and took a short price for Jonbon in The Melling Chase.

If you cannot have the Jockey who is the winning most English riders still riding, state it.

I'm not fond of the Irish basher either. The only positive is he's the stable jockey. And, the trainer could be the reason both the shorties might not be winning today. They both did not have a stroll at Cheltenham.

Why should Jango be so short? 4/6?

He was beaten by Impaire at the track last year at odds of 6/4.

The only doubt about the Mullins horse is the extra distance, as it was for some for Gaelic Warrior in the Gold Cup.

That and being pulled up last time, but was he right that day? Don’t forget they had the odds on fav for the Ryan Air in Fact To File.

4YO plus  |   Class 1  |   2m 5f  |   Soft

led turning in, 5 lengths clear when went right at the last, stayed on strongly, easily op 2/1

6 1/2 lengths back to a Gold Cup Winner that day in ‘23

Been waiting for the step up? Confused

There are 19 fences today, 18 in the KG, will Jango’s jumping hold up?

There were 16 fences when beaten by Impaire last year.
Race comments from that day
In touch with leaders, mistake and lost position 11th, headway after 2 out, 3 lengths down last, ran on well

Comments from the Gold Cup.
In touch with leaders, not fluent 3 out

Those are the things that I’d consider before diving in at 4/6 but it’s all about opinions.

Impaire Et Passe is a bogey horse for me. He showed potential - delivery was not his forte though. Of course he'd win. However, I think Jango Baie has improved since up in distance to 3m.

Thanks for your take on it Impossible, agree he’s in and out, but he could improve today for the step up himself as did Gaelic here.

Jango might have improved for the step up but his jumping has still cost him when the taps turn.

Would you take 4/6 with a diff jockey up?

No other fancies Impossible?
By:

When: 09 Apr 26 10:50
No, however, I'd take 4/6 if he'd bypassed Cheltenham regardless of jockey. I'm more concerned he'd have left his form at Cheltenham. I think Impaire has a habit of fluffing the odd fences too.

Selma and Lulamba. The former lost her race at the start with the shenanigan that seemed to beset Cheltenham 2026. I think Lulamba had a hard race prior to Cheltenham despite winning handsomely. This distance will play to his potential. Even money (boost) could be a bonus for some, I believe.
By:

When: 09 Apr 26 11:21
Cheers impossible, you’re right he does that too, Townend seems confident in his quote on the post however.

I didn’t see Lulumba’s race.

Many are on Brighter today, there wasn’t much between them yet The Lion covered much more ground by going wide. That extra distance covered doesn’t give her that much in hand thought the track will suite her better. Again going up in trip might help the Skelton horse and for me he never really tried all out in the Champion but looked after the horse and made sure that he had a clear round.
As soon as Lossie was supp’d I think any idea of trying to win went out the window for that camp and he was ridden with the future in mind.

I'm not a fan of The New Lion. But for his trainer and new owner (I think the former owner must be chuffed JP came calling) the horse would not be as lauded as he's been. I'm with Elliot's  - no bet for me though. As always the end of a season is always a "catching a falling knife scenario".

I think today's card is the best of the 3 day meeting; Saturday's Grand National.

Agree with your take on the owner and being lauded and over rated, unbeaten horses or those with win streaks draw that attention.
She’s now fav so many are of your opinion and backing that up. There was only half a length between them at the line so will be interesting to see how it goes!

Enjoy!

The present 2 highly regarded NH trainers eg Hendo and Skelton are so different to Sir Cecil, Sir Stoute and Mr Cumani about running their very best horse/s. I've never known either to run any in a wrong race eg wrong trip or wrong ground. They'd have everything planned-out - absolute true professional.
