I like Henderson trouble is he is half cut most of the time.

How do you know?
By:
I have seen his recycling.

I challenge you to post it. How many green boxes outside his front door, not stable?

Let us all take the word of a failed, losing work rider who Hendo wouldn't urinate on

acey would probably get more respect from Henderson having worked in the game, than the two bit scrap iron collector tbf.

I was at Huntingdon a few years ago watching my horse run , he was table behind with his owners in the Champagne bar , earwigged all afternoon , he sounded fabulous .

"Failed Lorry Driver"as well as failed punter

The negative for me re Henderson isn't himself but the media. Every half decent winner he gets is followed by a camera watching him, teary eyed, and everyone is supposed to choke up. I know he has some kind of eye problem but it just gets a bit much.
By:
Its hardly Hendo's fault that the Media pursue him relentlessly
By:
And now we learn (no real surprise to me) that CH will not be running at Cheltenham. The run at Southwell gave plenty of us the chance to lay off bets placed early in the season.
By:
If his behaviour had been replicated in the City Of London eg vague and leading comments he'd have been hauled before the FCA and appropriate penalty dished out. Hendo has form.
By:
Wouldn't rule out a U/Turn next week and they run him, never know with Hendo
By:
Any other horse perhaps, not CH though. CH is talented and loved, just his propensity to not jump hurdles adequately and fall. Luckily, he's never badly hurt. Let's hope his future on the Flat is as bright.
By:
I think it is safe to say that he will be brighter than you, implausible

Don't think Michael Buckley would change his mind and run. Other owners might well do.
By:
If the decision was made for the horses sake then that’s absolutely fine if the decision was made to keep other parties happy then that’s poor.
By:
Would you risk running and the fallout if he was injured? I know it is possible to get injured on the flat as well but previous form means that every critic of the sport would be up in arms if he fell at Cheltenham. I don't like the idea of giving way to pressure groups but in this case I think they have made the right call.
By:
They are extremely lucky to still have the horse so was the quality of fall(s) that it suffered and not forgetting it was close enough to possible more carnage in a couple of its wins along the way, definitely the right call as the reason for the sketchy jumping was never diagnosed.

Failing eyesight, horse and trainer, simple enough explanation, never mentioned.

AI! Yes, high adrenaline and the associated "fight-or-flight" stress response can cause temporary, functional vision issues in horses. While not always causing structural damage, intense stress alters how a horse perceives its surroundings, often leading to increased reactivity or "spooking".
Here is how high adrenaline and stress affect a horse's vision: "Whale Eye" (Sclera Exposure): When a horse is panicked or highly stressed (high adrenaline), the eye muscles tighten, causing the eyelid to pull up into a "triangulated" shape and widening the eye to expose the white sclera, commonly known as "whale eye". Reduced Focus and Tunnel Vision: High stress causes a "stressed eye" which is less capable of focusing on subtle details, often causing horses to become startled by objects in their periphery. Increased Sensitivity to Light and Movement: Adrenaline increases the sensitivity of the horse’s senses, which can cause them to react exaggeratedly to shadows, light changes, or sudden movement. Pupil Dilation: Pain or extreme stress can lead to pupil dilation (widening). Physical Eye Tension: Chronic stress or acute fear causes muscle tension around the eye, which can result in the eye being held tightly shut or constantly widened, affecting normal visual scanning. Schooling under minimal stress, 'jumps like a stag', a race is very different. |

fell in 4 or last 5 hurdles races is possibly a clue here
By:
To answer your question sageform no I wouldn’t have risk him again ,but not because of the fallout which was the point I was trying to make.
By:
Typically, the BBC sport news on 5 live who only mention anything about racing a few times a year, gave a couple of minutes to the Constitution Hill story highlighting the number of previous falls. This is what the sport is up against.
By:
Agree sageform but all this bowing to fallout have got the country in the mess it’s in.
By:
I agree but the public will always believe the worst when it comes to welfare of humans or animals.
By:
Of course

By:
Mr Henderson couldnt win and made a decision for the benefit of horse racing in general, imagine the sh1t show there would have been had the horse ran and fell, racing would have got a good kicking from the anti brigade
By:
I think most people would agree with all that nineteen but what next not just in horse racing in many other walks of life there’s so many anti whatever.
By:
seems a sensible decision to me - was unlikely to get round
but chemical saying it would have been unbeatable at the festival just makes himself look stupid |
By:
You cannot appease the Antis whatever you do and their sole aim is impose their misguided views on others
By:
Hendo has a habit of over-egging the situation. I think it's time he packs it in or adopts a policy of saying less. I hope he starts with Sir Gino.

El Fabiolo fell 3 out of the last 4 chases, a couple of pearlers too, still jumping hurdles though, jumping is jumping but I suppose as it's a less high profile horse it doesn't matter as much

It might help if the Media would stop anointing a horse ' the peoples horse'
By:
Trainer’s should be banned from going anywhere near bookmakers.
By:
That Bookmakers are allowed to sponsor Yards is an abhorrent practice.
It hardly inspires punters (the funders of the sport) to have any faith in the possible integrity issues. |
By:
Hendo would be banned if he was practising in Aussieland. The regulator down under is more professional and blessed with piranha gnashers. Here anything goes with regards to bookies. The bookies rule horseracing in the UK.

He is not Training in Aussie, you utter cretin, implausible
