Thought it was too good to be true.
Haiti Couleurs N/R, now being aimed for the Denman Chse.I should think that decision was made taking travelling into consideration today with the possibility of racing be off Penzance.Strange one. Willie apparently told the owner Kopek is fine but not quite up to taking on Romeo at this stage, yet is going straight to Cheltenham without another run. Is it just a case of giving Kargese a chance of a big pot?I think most know predicting Willie is not very easy.Well chief won an arkle with just one run over fences he also trained by a master.Bookies seemed to have been kept more up to date in recent weeks than Kopek's ownersThere's heavier rain than expected coming apparently.
Guessing Mullins as testing as the ground might be of course.
But didn't see that Kopek one actually.Leaves Siog Gael as last one standing ....for now anyway ..Bumper Saturday. No mullins runners. Elliott has 4. I'm still very doubtful this goes ahead as planned. Bucketing down again. There's heavier rain than expected coming apparently.
Raining last hour and expected to be the same for the rest of the day and night. Helps though that there's a strong breeze with it. They'll probably do a similar job tomorrow as they did already clearing the water, if needed.Saturday officially sold out. Still tickets available for Sunday.Just seen that Monday is a bank holiday, St Brigids day, so could put the Saturday card back til then if the Sunday is raceable? On Wednesday's Nick Luck pod the Leopardstown track chief Peter Roe was practically saying that everythings drained away and there'll be no problems, no caveat, no note of caution whatsover.Yes Duffy, COC did a video on Twitter yesterday at the track's lowest point, visually looked fine... not sure if this link will be visible?

"It's a million to be on".
Aceform has told us
……Being a racing fan i sincerely hope it is on for all concerned.Currently clear blue sky but yellow rain warning between midday and midnightThere doesn’t really seem much end to the rain so even a Sunday Monday fixture might struggleTongue-in-cheek Iron……
There are people on planet earth who don’t mind a bit of banter…..still looking like 50/50….
Good luck to the chosen who have planned for the meeting…..Much as I hope it is on I am not a fan of horses running in a BogI never thought this would go ahead at the weekend. Or rather it SHOULDN'T. Its barely rateable at best and should be called off. But greed plays a big part. What state are these horses going to be in at the finish line? Even the winners. They will be staggering over it.Dreadful thing in life slickster i agree….
Hospitality and feed the fodder……cash driven …inspected at noon, hopeful that they might be able to inspect in the morning.found a strip of ground that is not waterlogged that they can move rails and hurdles to.found a strip of ground that is not waterlogged that they can move rails and hurdles to.
is it in cork? After the deluge early this morning its been dry and breezy since. Another deluge expected this evening though. Hopefully theyre wrong...Track currently raceable so its down to what tonight brings weather wiseThe problem that exists now though is that what is the point of the meeting going ahead even if it is "raceable" if there are a stack of non runners and it ends up being a damp squib...no pun intended
hopefully won't be as bad as rince ri ericsson chase in 2000 but we'll see what tomorrow bringsNow a contingency plan for Saturday's Card to be run on Monday if needs be..and Punchestown to switch to Wednesday. I would assume Punchestown would be well reimbursed for this? That Roe bloke on Wednesday was practically saying, nothing to see here, did think he was being a bit brave with his tone.!
A dry day up to now from 7.30am but the expected rain has just started.OK listen up. This meeting will NOT take place. ZERO chance. Absolutely bucketing down here. Should have been called off Wednesday to save all the UK travelling. Desperate racing relations. If by a mega miracle they call it on lol EVERY single trainer should pull their horses out. No need for this 8.00 "inspection". And sack the coc for utter incompetence and stupidity.Agree slick crazy customer care non existent people traveling from all over spending crazy money to stay in Dublin on a bank holiday weekend can just imagine prices.sister on law paid 700 for 2 nights in basic hotel west corkAt it again?
As i live 270 miles from the Course I cannot have a valid opinion.
Regretably, that has never stopped Aceform from spouting pony
No matter what happens today at least we all know the plan if racing is off well done hri if it’s a Sunday Monday then so be it either way it will be great .Iron,it was obvious it was struggling with persistent rain, most farmers would agree…..and they are good judges regarding turf….
A million was being generous tbh…Unfortunately the rain last night was too much. Maybe as well as it may have turned the races into a farce. Sorry for anyone travelling over. What a great pity that you were too bottleless to Lay the 1.2 to be on,AceformI don’t lay Mr Iron……hopefully you took my advice tho’……I remember two respectable farmers who have vast experience ( generations) telling me some clerks need a month or two with crop growers….top2rated 31 Jan 26 09:54

Well done Slickster.
Yeah Glasgow it wasn't that difficult to predict as I don't live too far away. Anyone with half a racing brain should have known. Whats worrying is the coc stated on Wednesday that he can't foresee any problems re racing on Saturday and Sunday!! That's some statement. Did he not see his track had turned into a river on Tuesday? Or did he just turn a blind eye hoping the rain would go away. He put many thousands of people away. Anyway should be OK the next 2 days. Although if I owned a horse due to run he most certainly wouldn't be now. Especially with a view to Cheltenham. How many are going to forsake Cheltenham running in this utter quagmire..Just heard the Leopardstown spokesman on radio, when pressed for chances of racing going ahead tomorrow he said 85%Any chance of moving tomorrow to Tuesday if it's off ?Nice touch by Shelbourne Pk offering free admission to anyone who produces a Leopardstown ticketAny chance of moving tomorrow to Tuesday if it's off ?
Fairyhouse scheduled so unlikely I would sayEven with the drying day we've had the track still wasn't raceable at 4oc. Theyre optimistic though if it doesn't pelt down tonight it should be raceable tomorrow.1 hour ago
Peter Roe, head of HRI racecourses:
"I've just walked the course with the track team here at Leopardstown and we're getting there. We're still the wrong side of the line but we're a lot closer to the line than we were this morning.
"It's still not raceable, but it's getting there. It's been a drying day and there is a dry forecast so a full night of Leopardstown soakage should get us to where we want to be in the morning.
"We're very hopeful and for the first time all week the weather forecast is on our side for once."prob be on with dry night but I wouldn't bet 1/6 its onGoes ahead. Weather a bit dirty atm so hopefully it gets better as the day goes on.Always going to get the go ahead today. Hurdles is heavy of course. But remarkably our coc is calling the chase course just "soft". That is hard to believe. What's the weather like just stopped raining here passing apple green castlebellingham
