Agree, Donegal, posted on the other thread
Being cynical,no refunds to be issued now if that's the case, but I supposed they are trying their best to get the meeting on
Must have one eye on not chewing up the ground for the Xmas and new year meetings
Report wondersobright December 18, 2025 2:08 PM GMT
its heavy but raceable imo
Report wondersobright December 18, 2025 2:09 PM GMT
some horses been waiting for these conditions all year been v little heavy ground this year
Report jimnast December 18, 2025 2:20 PM GMT
Reg

Generally speaking racecourses give the paying public vouchers for a future fixture if they call it of after just a few races
Report DonegalPrince December 18, 2025 2:27 PM GMT
WonderSB I agree with you. Wasn't suggesting they should, just that they would. However, like most of my predictions on horse racing this dreadful punting year, I got that wrong too!
Report abba21 December 18, 2025 2:33 PM GMT
It will be worse next year as bookies need to get more money back now with government rules.
Report wondersobright December 18, 2025 2:33 PM GMT
fair enough dp
Report Regbutler December 18, 2025 2:33 PM GMT
Yes,jimnast
The rule used to be money back if no racing,or vouchers for future meetings if at least one race...the second option obviously preferable to the racecourse

Fair play to Exeter for keeping going
As wonders says...heavy but raceable

Report stu December 18, 2025 2:47 PM GMT

Thats good going
Report jackdaw December 18, 2025 2:53 PM GMT
Is Mike Cattermole the worst commentator ever? You could see the other horse coming to the second last when he said everything else had pulled up.
Report gambas December 18, 2025 2:58 PM GMT
Wont be much better at Ascot tomorrow. Plenty of water around. Swinley bottomless! Was at this meeting in the 90s. First race, couldnt see  a thing  because of fog. They ran the 2nd race in even worse conditions so they didnt have to make any refunds
Report Regbutler December 18, 2025 2:58 PM GMT
Saying "delayed" for next race on exchange now?
Report Regbutler December 18, 2025 2:59 PM GMT
Gambas...that practice by the tracks was what I was alluding to earlier
Report jimnast December 18, 2025 2:59 PM GMT

Report jimnast December 18, 2025 3:01 PM GMT
It’s what they use to do running a couple of races so no refunds I don’t think that happens anymore.

2 races on that hurdle course 40s & 49s above std that's not unraceable if jockeys ride sensibly but never mind
Report wondersobright December 18, 2025 3:05 PM GMT
they'll all be moaning when ground dries out
Report Busyfool December 18, 2025 3:07 PM GMT

44-48 today jim

buyers got off lightly imo
18.5 + 2 void races of 10l = 38.5 makeup...9.5x loss

Report wondersobright December 18, 2025 3:11 PM GMT
agree was bad jim but we've seen a lot worse over the years & carry on
plug seems to be pulled early on anything now
Report jimnast December 18, 2025 3:12 PM GMT
They certainly did wonders thankfully I learned my lesson many years ago about beating the spreads it cost me to find out.
Report Trusty December 18, 2025 3:20 PM GMT
Will they abandon Ascot tomorrow to keep the ground for Saturday and move the G2 over? They have previous!
Report jimnast December 18, 2025 3:23 PM GMT
Trusty

Ascot wouldn’t do that unless it was completely unraceable tomorrow, corporate wise it’s a huge day with many Christmas parties.
Report jimnast December 18, 2025 3:25 PM GMT
Also good to soft good in places this morning plenty to play with there, with Friday Saturday forecast dry.
Report elise December 18, 2025 3:26 PM GMT
they've put the rail out for 2moro then moving to give fresh ground for sat so as it's good / gd to sft i'd be hopeful they will be ok, that said weather isn't great but fingers crossed
Report Trusty December 18, 2025 3:56 PM GMT
All true just been raining so hard and Ascot doesn't drain super fast.
Report jimnast December 18, 2025 4:21 PM GMT
Let’s hope it’s not spoilt then trusty I enjoy Ascot always interesting racing.
Report Busyfool December 18, 2025 4:36 PM GMT
Ascot does drain quickly, possibly fastest of all

Pity its on the dark side
