Can't wait to hear what excuse Johnny G comes up with this time.

Long rest, and the draw was a stinker. Similarly, Rosallion - a hard season plus the bad draw.

Both of them very overrated.

The horse is clearly not in the same form as earlier in the season together with an awful run at Goodwood last time.
It would have required an act of faith to back it today

That form was actually relatively weak in my view (I stated long before this race). Irish 2000 was a very weak 3yo G1. The only race fans can really point to is the SJP, another 3yo race. Which was a decent performance but created a falsely high OR (in my opinion).

I think that's very true about FoG. He is not as good as most have hoped for. No Frankel, except sharing the same ownership and breeding shed no doubt.

FOG has always had a big rep but it was elevated by that infamous 'unlucky' 2000 guineas. In which he wasn't actually that unlucky, and the race wasn't that special, form wise.

I think connections are beginning to think the same too. The blame on Shoemark was exaggerated.

The comparison is more Kingman imo, but he's not good enough to lace Kingman's hooves!

interesting what tom Segal said last night on in the know said he was in a box above the winning line royal ascot FOG finished completely knackered and felt jockey gave unnecessary a hard race,
couldn't have there horse today after hearing that and what we saw at Goodwood

Indeed.
It would be much more useful for punters if Johnny G were to give us his excuses pre-race in future.

Footage of FOG in the pull up in the SJP. Not completely knackered. I wouldn't say he was bouncing, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Frico has no working racing brain. Has to be told what to do. Follows the market blaaa. Has no feel for a race.

So frico put 3.3 on a 1.06 shot to try to get up to 3.5 is this correct? That's my reading of "a full bank" n'est pas. Or is this just ANOTHER lie... a potless freak.

I've just seen the video. It was appalling. It resembled an incident in the 3rd world eg Soweto. I honestly believe the police should be equipped with whips or long bamboo sticks to maintain law and order in a situation like this. And, the parents or guardians of those offenders (mainly teenagers) ought to be asked to attend the local police station asap, etc.

The high street in Sutton has become unrecognisable. It has degenerated into a street with vape shops, barber shops, fast food and coffee chains and stores stocked with bankruptcy stocks for the home.   There are also a couple of grocery shops selling meat (raw) which could stink the street if the wind is blowing in your direction. I think the locals have more or less deserted it to the mass proliferation of foreigners. It's a far cry from the Sutton High Street 2.5 decades ago.

I hope Cheam High Street does not go the same way as Sutton. It's still ok, I'm glad to say.

Am I missing something? He's 5/4 for The Mile at Sandown this friday. He's at least 7lbs in hand over the rest.

Its a cracking field for this years renewal imp.

I am hoping that Zeus Olympios maintains his upward profile, he improved with each run last year and is unbeaten with 4 wins out of 4.
Obviously no easy task conceding 3lb to FOG and it will be some performance if he can do so.

"The FOG looks well-in". That's my opinion as well. However, there usually is a sting-in-the-tail with horseracing. The recent "workout" runs by AOB star charges had been unbelievably bad.

FOG entered for lockinge. I wouldn't be rushing to take the 5/4. Gosden good start to season have had his spot on. My play in the race would be LAY never so brave. I would be surprised and disappointed if FOG, Zeus Olympios & opera ballo didn't have enough about them to best it.

ciceros gift looks big  at 25/1 imo  has btn field of gold and never so brave, twice a  course  and dist winner and not that much to find on official ratings .

Ciceros Gift does look overpriced based on his improved form in the latter part of last season Foyles, good luck.

I will be sticking with Zeus as he is the one with untapped potential. It's no secret how highly his trainer rates him.
Lovely looking individual as well with his four white socks.

It looks a really card tomorrow, should be informative for the season ahead.

Dancing Gemini won this well last season, had Cicero's Gift 3Ls back in 3RD
& also 5LB better in.Only done a NCK in the Lockinge NTO when the 2/1 Fav.
His form seemed to fall away a bit after so he might be better early & can
see Teal having him more or less straight for this.Should run well if he has.
Around 14/1 books & slightly bigger here, although for not much.

good luck dixie as you say zeus olympus has untapped potential goes fresh unbeaten 4 from 4 could be a world beater . field of gold may well win but no value at  the price imo. hopefull of a bigger price on here  tommoz  for ciceros

Which FOG turns up? if its the ITG/SJPS version then EVS [was 5/4 earlier] looks a very fair price, if it flops again then gosden can forget about any dreams he harboured about it being the top miler in europe this year

as said the fav is going to be popular given its profile but too short imo. zeus o could be a world beater 4 from 4 and should be more to come ciceros gifts  win last time didnt look a fluke despite the price he won that well and 25s looks very fair imo. also depending on price never so brave didnt get the clearest of runs in the qe2 and ticks a fair few boxes a saver on him with oisin up .

Markets suggest bookmakers think they can get a few short one's beat today - Field Of Gold/Zeus Olympios in the this and Almeric is weak in the previous race. I have stuck with Zeus Olympios on the basis the ground should suit. I hope he is ridden forward from stall one.

Opera Ballo was only a 7/2 shot in The Craven against Field Of Gold. The horse bounced out and too a few lengths off Field Of Gold; Keane was sitting too far back and never managed to make up the lost ground.

Well done Opera Ballo and Buick.
