I'm not very happy about this.I couldn't vote till I was 21,so I have been discriminated against.

A change to the constitution should be voted on. It’s a separate issue totally.
They pretty much are abandoning everything they do! Unsound boomerang party! |

Now all they have to do is ban the over 60's |
|

And yet you also get upset when they actually do something they said they would do.
Boomerang poster. |

Another assumption as I’m delighted at them showing a complete lack of idea, organisation, harmony or belief in their ideas!

I agree. It surely has to be voted on as per any standard bill?

Not too worried about, most will be on x-box's and the like come polling day.

Politicians will be standing outside MacDonalds offering free burger and fries to any 16/17 yr old
that will vote for them! |

And promising to legalise pott was a carrot mentioned before.
Most can’t even cook a simple meal let alone hold a conversation, they haven’t attended UNI at that age where you learn life skills and they are being given this privilege? It’s certainly not a life right at that age having never done a days graft. It’s sign of desperation. |

Aye, we need stop all this forward thinking and investing in the future - the Govt needs to focus on what all the Govts before it have done - printing and borrowing more money to fund profligate pensioners.

It is the public sector pensioners who bleed the state dry. Deplorable state of affairs.

Replies: 1171918 Jul 25 09:52 It was in their manifesto, so technically they already have a mandate to do it and you've already had the opportunity to vote on it. are you suggesting those opposed to this but who voted labour should have abstained or voted for someone else? its the govt. thats profligate and is borrowing unsustainably, and we are only paying the interest do you think the govt has performed well over the last 12 months? votes for kids is a blatant attempt to manipulate the electoral maths becuase of a perception they will benefit. do you agree? |

The end justifies the means. It's pandering to older voters that has partly got us into this mess.

Aye, 60+ years of good times (relative to now) and everything absolutely stacked in their favour - but still relying on the state for hand-outs and benefits.
"But I've paid in all me life" - of course in reality most (especially women that had children or were housewives) will have paid in about enough to cover the cost of 3 or 4 years of the state pension at most. Never mind 25+ years of it, social care, NHS, energy bill benefits, bus passes, etc, etc.Fk me, you take away their free TV licences (at about the same time as tripling Tuition Fees for their grandchildren!), and it's like the end of the world is nigh. mitolo - which demographic do you think they are all trying to "blatantly manipulate" with the completely unaffordable pension triple-lock guarantee? |
|
By:
I know they didn’t mitolo but nevertheless it is a fact. Which means we are always governed and ruled by minorities.

Angelina Ginger Nut was asked what age can you get married at? The reply was 16!
Just seen the Environment Minister asked the same question, he flipped the question back to the interviewer and asked, “You tell me?” ![]() So we have the Deputy Prime and the above mentioned and neither know the law of the country! ![]() Best of luck ![]() |

Probably the most pertinent question is:
At what age do grandchildren get to start subsidising their grandparents State Pension via Tax & National Insurance? |
|
By:
Second most pertinent question:
What age will those grandchildren be themselves before they reach the age to benefit from said Ponzi Scheme? (assuming it still exists). |

That’s rude lead on.

Lead on refers to - (What some minds think of!)

By:
why dont you answer the pertinent question i asked you instead of ducking it by changing the subject?
which you do with regularity as you are incapable of debate or discussion and make irrelevant assertions like this one and run from uncomfortable truths |

Clyde bank wrote, the mess we‘re in today
We are in a total mess today, socially, politically and financially, for No other reason than the so called progressive politics, pushed by a Neo Liberal elite, far left ideologies, diversity inclusion, alphabet people, pink politics, etc etc, where the narrative has been dominated by militant tyrannical minorities. Every structure of society we had built, has been bulldozed By the left, sane, rational, normal people’s voices, are not Heard today, the left have behaved like fascists, in thst No one is afforded the opportunity to even voice their opinions, You can’t speak up now about any issue in society, you are cancelled, Fired, or black balled, all driven too by mainly left wing media channels It’s Fascism in reverse. Policing, crime, the court system are all in disarray Driven by these bizarre left wing ideologies. There is no middle ground, the left Has destroyed thst. Finally it seems rational normal common sense people Are fighting. Be inviting 16yo to vote, is clearly a left policy, as these kids Are not even remotely aware of what’s happening, and are likely to vote Left leaning |

Can’t disagree with any of that ponchos. I have rarely seen it put better. Well done whoever the author is but, it is too late. We are well and truly on the slippery slope unless someone steps up to stop the rot. And that won’t be easy.

This is the most egregious case of putting party before country that I can recall, and I am strictly apolitical, aside from devotion to the Party of God. And judging by acts like this, I am well away from it
Even Labour parishioners are embarrassed. Does anyone suppose this would be happening if the consensus of teenage voting intentions was different? Even so, it is not guaranteed Also, pressure from senior family members on the young will now become a seat-swinging reality, and given the scandals over recent postal voting bloc votes, can only intensify Imagine the Tories moving the voting age to 21? The same people who are now silent would be in uproar It will be interesting to see if any Labour member has a clear enough conscience to go against this I pray for this country's future |

I was of the opinion that more would be in agreement with the common sense aspect of it but it seems not. |
