Wang getting a bit better now after a pretty slow start imv.

Wang making a right meal of this imv.

Wang takes a tumble...
looks a bit shook up. |

Navarro sums up modern day grass court tennis. There was a time when it was about power and winners. Her only obvious weapon is court coverage. Strolling through on the basis of frustrating opponents by just getting the ball back. These days that's all you need to be top ten. Arguably the most boring player on the circuit.

Sonmez serving for the set...
Wang needs to up her game big time here... very ordinary indeed today. |
|
By:
Sonmez 1-0...
wake up Wang ffs. |
|
By:
Never 100% sure about the motivation when the going gets tough for both Navarro & Pegula but tbh it could just be the fact they're both part of Billionaire families that nags with my head.

i think i need to start playing in running on these games Hayden...
this Wang game looked a 50/50 after the first couple of games imv. |
|
By:
The only way in my view Hib , hell will freeze over before i have a bet pre-match , so many imponderables before they take the court that you've no firm idea about like body language , motivation albeit outside the slams and basically how they feel on the day as unlike us they're not robots
![]() Lay low or back high will always be my strategy in-play using selected players list , same with Cricket and American Sports. Good luck all ![]() |

By:
i think you are right tbh Hayden...
when horse racing in running finally becomes pointless i think i will join you tbh. |

Sonmez breaks in Set 2...
Wang in trouble now. |

Wang 2.68...

Wang breaks back.

You can plan well ahead to target tournaments Hib as well , examples like first tournament following a seasonal change and change of surface , playing at altitude a particularly good one to look for on a Monday & Tuesday in particular following a different surface at sea level the week before , plenty of other examples not forgetting the South American Challenger circuit

By:
oh there's no doubt there is an opportunity there tbh Hayden...
would need to come up with some sort of 'strategy' but lay low and back high is clearly the overall goal... won't always work out but it's all about the p+l at the end of the day... definitely something i'd at least give a go when the horses in running finally reaches the pointless stage. |
|
By:
decent money on Wang at 3.35...
a set and a break down at the time... easy to say now but that would probably be the scenario alot of folk would hit the blue button on a game like this. |
|
By:
Wang gets broken again...
deary me. |
|
By:
Sonmez serving for the match...
1.4 v 3.4... |
|
By:
Wang totally blows a 0-40 in the final game...
well done Sonmez... a missed in running opportunity for me. |
|
By:
Very noisy crowd for that match.
As regards in-running the big question is when does the very unpredictable become predictable? It isn't unusual for a player to dominate a set and then have a complete turnaround, sometimes for no obvious reason. I think most times if it is that predictable the odds will cover it. I don't think it's a great look for any sport that so many are seemingly forced down the in-running route. Volynets who saw off the unconventional Maria with some ease not backing up today. As I said one shock seems to be enough for plenty of these players. |

i think in running gives you an extra 'clue' as to what the outcome 'might' be tbh dd...
Hayden made some good points earlier... i know Wang lost and this will sound like i'm being a clever d1ck after the event... first of all i didn't play and second of all i wrote it in real time... but even early doors the game looked like it was going to be a close one... even if Wang won it was going to be a grind... and even if Wang won the traders would have layed low and backed her high so they'd have been in profit also i would suggest... obviously it doesn't always work in your favour... but if you think you at least know a little bit about the game in running definitely gives you an opportunity if you don't fancy the pre-match scenario... i personally don't know if i'd have the patience for it... especially during a grand slam where early doors you are looking at 32 games in a day just for the lassies... it's a lot to keep your eyes on imv. |
|
By:
put it this way i'm not so sure i could go down the 'trading' route...
i'd be more inclined to say... this looks like being a close game... the lassie is trading at 1.4... i'll lay her and hope she loses. |
|
By:
Just a personal way of playing dd but i'd suggest you let the numbers drive the involvement and keep the personal opinion as secondary , once you're comfortable with the list of players you're trading from based on a selection criteria of many things then the biggest decision has already been made so let the numbers take care of the rest , with added subtlety though such as a sliding scale to use up you're max liability on a particular match and also keep 10% of the strategy back for if and/or when needing a flexible element.
You don't need too much thinking into the match itself aside from imponderables as they emerge as the tennis list contains the knowledge required ( subject to revisiting every month or so ) so you know why you're involved in that match , it's prudent to have a liability uplift when you have two list players facing each other. The personal choice from the outset is what's your max odds lay ( with a sliding scale of say 70/20/10 of your 100% risk ) and at which odds do you level up , which can depend on how successful the 70/20/10 works out and how low the player hits near basement price. Each to their own though and fully understand why these methods wouldn't be for everyone or even anyone ![]() |

If i didn't go down the trading route on my strategy Hib it would be contradictory in that i've picked a list as they fit a spiky graph criteria , so laying a player at say 1.21 and then hitting 2.0 without taking a green means effectively i'm backing an even money shot in-play by definition of leaving the bet run , that contradicts why i put the whole thing together in the first place , i'm never interested in each of two situations or coin flips so letting that example run would mean i've slipped into a coma or worse and never leave hedges hanging as the volatility of say jumping from 1.7 to 2.3 on a single point swing means that value can be flitted away too easily.

By:
oh i get all that Hayden...
and i think it's the best way to play it... i just don't think i'd have the patience to sit here all day when there are 32 matches in a single day and adopt a 'trading' strategy... i'm not sure if you have a sort of 'automated' system or if you are inputting bets manually but either way it's a massive commitment imv... andobviously not every tournament is in Europe so you also have the 'out of hours' scenario... we're all different (thankfully) but i just know i couldn't adopt your strategy 100% coz i don't have the patience for it... the one i described earlier would be my way and see if i could return a profit... i probably wouldn't but if and when the time comes i'll give it a go. |

Sabalenka 1.29 to beat Princess Emma...
i'd say that's roughly where i'd have it tbh. |
|
By:
is Danielle Collins on your list Hayden ?
she ain't exacy=tly looking like a 5 on chance here imv. |
|
By:
exactly ffs.
|
|
By:
Sakkari v Rybakina for me now...
|
|
By:
Collins takes the first set.
|
|
By:
Rybakina a break up...
still far too many loose shots for my liking. |
|
By:
Alexandrova early break down. One of the circuit flakes. Couldn't convert 11 match points against Mertens the other day. Body language never that good.
Will have a look at last year's winner as this year doesn't look as if it's going to take that much winning. |
|
By:
i like Alexandrova dd...
her knees do knock tho. |
|
By:
Collins romping home.
|
|
By:
Rybakina going through one of those loose spells here...
which is fine against lesser players... not against the big guns tho. |
|
By:
Zakharova v Yastremska a match to keep an eye on imv...
currently 3.5 v 1.4... looks like being a close one to me tbh. |
|

Whoever started these ‘let’s go blah blah let’s go’ chants needs a good kicking, have to turn the sound down.
