chapmen commenting get involved arguing against johnny and another guy on irish podcast, who couldnt believe murphy carried on riding as though nothing happened, chapmen said the law prevented murphy going to see the girl in hospital, chappers forgetting in his sat column he said no one no,s if a girl is involved or injured or if there was if it was murphys gfault,no saying the law prevents murphy going to see her in hospital

It's a shame he's not just addicted to riding winners, like AP was.
By:
That is what stunned me too 1tp, how he carried on, business as usual, knowing the furore his actions were and had stirred up, knowing the sword of Damocles would be coming his way. Not a care for anything or asnyone else. Apparently at least. And all his eloquence in Chapman interviews, both of them knowing what a reprehensible piece of vermin he was.
Ill, addicted, deeply troubled or whatever he knew full well what he had done and clearly didn't give a monkey's duck. And probably still doesn't. Save my career and lifestyle, nothing else matters. |
By:
Some real thicko's or possibly comedians commenting here with the ability to read minds? Would you expect him to ride differently if he did care about what happened, how do you know how he feels?
As for impossible KC, he has not been charged with dangerous driving or causing injury (yet) but part of his bail could prevent him from visiting the girl in hospital as a potential witness 1st TP and for swifty, there is no trial!! HTH |

Mr Murphy has no conscience; he put his female passenger in hospital with serious injury. But, he's carrying on business as usual. There's been neither a show of a smidgeon of remorse for his female passenger nor a public acknowledgement of his action because of his drinking and driving nor apologising to the coppers for refusing their request for a roadside specimen test.
I believe any decent individual in his situation would have stopped driving now; booked himself into a rehab centre eg The Priory now. I honestly think his employers Mr Balding and Qatar Racing need to step up and put him right; Mr Murphy is not taking responsibility of his actions which is detrimental to the image of British Horseracing. Similarly, the HBA. No one individual is bigger than the sport! |

I don’t know how he feels. I do know how he has been acting though. Don’t you.?
If he can squirm out of this in any way possible that will do him, is the attitude I perceive. |

Anyone know who the Lady in the Car was and how she is
Why is he Driving ? Millionaire can he not Hire a driver or Call a Uber deserves no sympathy , he will kill some one ,Hopefully will be dealt with by the Courts |
By:
Just lock him up. Throw away the key for at least 6 months. A clear message is an absolute must to Mr Murphy before he kills someone; wrapping his car round a tree was extremely close to that happening. It is a case of not if, but when.
The BHA needs to get a grip with this self-interested person; repeated infringement of alcohol abuse; missing scheduled breath tests; fraca outside a local boozer. These he seemed not to have learnt from or too bothered about. His mentality was "just carried on as usual" regardless. This is being deployed in his latest alcohol abuse episode again but, with a major difference. Someone was seriously injured because of him, his selfish attitude and his disregard to whom his selfish action could hurt. |

Let the law take its course and lets just hope he decides he needs serious help. |

By:
I really hope that you never get to serve on a jury, implausible.
You are a judgemental moron |
By:
Nothing moronic about your judgement at all impossible123.
By:
It is for a court to decide when in possession of all the facts but don't let that stop judgemental people on here stating their opinions as facts.
By:
We don’t state our opinions as facts, we offer them to the forum for consideration and further discussion.
Which is what forums have always been for. Certainly not to call other contributors morons. You don’t get it do you? |
By:
If implausible made his allegations public he would face legal action.
I am no fan of Murphy's conduct but have never been in favour of trial on BF |
By:
I read on X girls back in yard and back working, but that could be just from someone defending murphy
By:
I hope it's true and the girl passenger is much better and back at work. Her welfare is paramount.
However, it does not take away the irresponsible action of Mr Murphy who chose to drink and drive whilst intoxicated. Next time it might be a very different outcome. |
By:
" gibbons was punished for the outcome, not the offence
nothing to do with drinking" You mean his riding career ended because of one poor split second decision in one race ? |

Oisin banned from driving for 20 months and fined £70k after pleading guilty to driving over the limit and refusing to give a roadside sample.
By:
thought he'd get 2 plus years, it's quite often 18mnths just for the dd
By:
No idea how much over the limit he was elise but the ban would suggest not by much.

Implausible will be fuming

Scaffolding going up at his bedsit irons with an effigy of Murphy waiting to find out whether it is hanging or guillotine.

described as being “just shy” of twice over the limit and her car not his
By:
At Reading Magistrates’ Court, Murphy pleaded guilty to drink driving, while his lawyer issued an apology for his “grave error”, as he was described as being “just shy” of twice over the limit. Murphy was immediately fined £70,000 on the basis of his lucrative racing winnings and banned from driving for 20 months.

Should have gone to prison in my book.Needs a severe wake up call.I am a big Murphy fan by the way.

By:
doesn't look like he was asked to plead on the failing to provide, just the dd
By:
Acey LOL. Prison. What else is in your book? Any pearls of wisdom? Or is it all hyperbolic sh*t
By:
That could throw a different light elise, her car. Possible he was being a misguided Sir Galahad, would be interesting to know the girls blood alcohol level?
By:
Yes, it would naturally be more difficult to drive a car you're not used to if you try it whilst nearly twice over the legal drink drive limit.
By:
bha will have to make an announcement about looking at it and he's prob going to get tested every meeting for a while if they let him ride (which i'd expect them to do), they have to seen to pull him in before a panel in case anything happens later
By:
The dangers of being judgemental without being in full possession of the facts perfectly demonstrated here
By:
says in report (Sky News) that it was his Mercedes A Class he drove that night
some poor choices made by him but the court have given their decision think he will undergo more stringent testing now on racedays but that might be it and hopefully he can get himself sorted out |
By:
in fairness to some of them irons, the original charges looked way worse than they ended up at so the penalties would have been greater, that said some of the comments were daft
By:
When the fack did The Forum ever worry about the facts ffs?

No excuse whatever the circumstances but the circumstances described beg more questions than answers e.g why was the passenger lying in the road, how did the police become aware etc?
Perhaps not all was as it seemed according to Impossible KC et al? |
