The day of reckoning is upon him soon. I hope this time it's for good, or at least a meaningful period away from professional horse riding on race tracks; drink driving and an abuse of substance must not and cannot be tolerated by the BHA, the governor of horseracing.
I hope Mr Murphy does the decent thing and stops all competitive horse riding on race tracks immediately. I hope his employer Mr Balding as a responsible professional ensues this happens with immediate effect. Driving a vehicle over the prescribed limit of alcohol in an accident and failing to cooperate with a preliminary test at the roadside is indefensible and an affront to public road safety and others esp the injured female passenger. |

"then you never want to meet him in a pub in newmarket at 10 0 clock" Or anyone in a Middlesbrough pub ?

Other Jockeys have been convicted of drink driving without penalty by the BHA.

His riding ability is not in question, just his repetitive incursions into abuse of alcohol and illegal substance.
If the BHA does not take effective preventative actions now the BHA could be responsible for any incident on racetracks or on public roads; the BHA could be taken to court for being unprofessional and ineffective in dealing with Mr Murphy's repetitive over-indulgence or dependence on alcohol and illegal substance |

Covid cheats,implausible?
WTF are you on |
|
By:
Probably in his favour the case is being heard in the Magistrates Court. With a good Solicitor by his side and a long list of mitigating circumstances he will probably get away with a very heavy fine, 18 months/2 yr. driving ban.

More abuse from uptheirons when not required. The forum charmer.

Go and bother some whippets Poncho.
Implausible is a grade A prick like yourself |

So are you saying any person who gets done for drink driving should lose their living the unemployment figures are to go up No reason for special treatment just because he is a jockey but also no reason for stricter judgement for being jockey

Rotflmao. A very unhappy chap indeed.

Covid cheats ffs

ironman is a bit narsty but that wasnt abuse
but where unbearable is concerned its always justified |
|
By:
Even if Mr Murphy was not scheduled to be tested on a race track but looked and/or smelled of alcohol on the day then the BHA and the track official responsible for testing are guilty of a dereliction of duty, and not fit for purpose. If so, both entities will need to be replaced and binned for good.

Ask Freddie Tylicki what he thinks of alcohol-abusing jockeys? Then excuse Murphy.
|
|
By:
tylicki was most unfortunate, if only because he was ruined by something that we see most days and nobody gets done for it and gibbons was punished for the outcome, not the offence
nothing to do with drinking |
|
By:
Was anybody excusing him Poncho?
Driving Offences have no bearing on his riding |
|
By:
he stole the jockey,s championship of buick by breaking racings covid rules and could have got all racing stopped because of it

behave poncho
that is super-hypothetical. by your reasoning richard hughes and several other top jokeys shouldnt have been allowed to ride as theri self-acknowledged over-consumption would have affected them adversely |

I rest my case.

Thank you Rumpole of the Bailey

Without commenting on the upcoming case, I think the big issue is Murphy's credibility.
How can anyone believe a word he says? Numerous expressions of regret over his past problems, all mea culpa, thanks for the support, learned my lesson, won't do it again. Absolute rubbish. Excellent jockey but not a nice person to deal with sometimes. Balding's reaction will be interesting bearing in mind his owners and lofty connections. With the world at his feet Murphy **** up again. Captain Mainwaring's verdict: Stupid boy. |

By:
love to see him and ryan moore in a driving finish in a group1 , and oisin gives moore the f off sign, re starkey/ eddery days , shame them kind of battles between the top horses never occur these days

As mitolo pointed out, jockeys have been drinking for decades.
It's hardly news |

To be associated with a "professional" jockey with a history of alcohol and substance abuse who knowingly drove, then crashed into a tree seriously injury his female companion passenger after a few beverages, and over the alcohol level permissible for driving. And, then refused to cooperate over a roadside test.
Is this the sort of person horseracing would like to be associated with? Is this the sort of jockey a high profile owner would like their horses to be ridden and associated with? Can one envisage the negativity for the sport his face could invoke at any prize presentation? A protest by the road safety supporters and campaigners, and victims of drinking and driving at race tracks will do irreparable damage to the sport if the BHA till does not get a grip with Mr Murphy and his off track (illegal) recreational indulgences. |

Oisin showed great restraint in that stewards years ago think it was glorious goodwood and moore repeatedly sneered oisin and what he said in stewards ,this wasn't taking mick , it was bitter nasty and twisted by moore to mock and sneer , oisin kept his council which most would have reacted to that little **** moore , oisin is a gentleman , he would never behave like that little charlatan , people should give oisin the benefit as he is essential to the game given its on its knees
