Fights in the weighing room too numerous to mention, an alcoholic, a proper drug taker, a refusal to take a roadside breath test having nearly killed his female passenger a couple of weeks ago ...... and not a suggestion during Royal Ascot or any other recent meeting where he has ridden as to what a pile he is.

Chapman did say that he'd "had some problems in the last couple of weeks", but the truth is, he needs to be warned off and not be shielded under the care of the brown nosing media or those lovely quataris.

Your post is full of holes and untruthfulnesz, oisin murphy is a credit to racing and to his family , he is the most courteous man to give interviews to the media , saved bin suroor has said he is best jockey in world and I agree with that fully , he puts other jockeys to shame , if balding had him on that soul horse earlier it would have won easy , racing is lucky to have oisin and this litany of lies about him is abhorrent. Oisin is vastly intelligent jockey compare to others how he reads the form and breeding and analyses races , no other jockey has this intelligence. I hope he is around for years to come and he is tye only man u can deoend on being punter .

He put jockeys to Shame that day on lead artist for golden at newbury that horse is a group 2 horse at best and he beat the others so called group 1 horses , moore was on teal horse that day and oisin made show of him and rest of them

Dear MICS, the point of the post was not whether or not Qisin is a top rider, it's his negative lifestyle that needs discussing, as well as the "doesn't suit to discuss" attitude of the racing media all sticking together.

For starters put yourself in the position of the father of the girlfriend whose life was threatened by his behaviour. In particular, refused a roadside breath test and went for the blood sample where it takes 6 to 8 weeks to process the blood taken at the police station. That enabled Oisin to ride at Ascot before any charges could be levelled.

Already found guilty and substantially banned, not so long ago, for taking Class A drugs and my earlier point that he loves a punch up not in dispute.

I do agree that he is very polite, articulate and courteous when not suffering with his character flaws, and yes, he is a top class rider.

It could be a very long holiday awaiting Oisin imho.

Oisin Murphy has been charged and is due to appear in court following a road traffic collision in April.

The multiple champion Flat jockey in Britain was charged with one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed limit of alcohol, and one count of failing to cooperate with a preliminary test at the roadside.

He was charged on the same day he rode a double at Royal Ascot last Thursday, having won the Britannia Stakes on Arabian Story and the Buckingham Palace Stakes on Never So Brave.

Murphy is due to appear at Reading Magistrates' Court on July 3, Thames Valley Police have said.

i thinking the same mr c as they'd not mentioned it, also if you read the police statement it says he refused the roadside but it doesn't say he refused at the station

we discussed this months ago whilst the racing media sat on its hands...
the man has a drink problem and as he wasn`t tested at Leicester that day it begs the question does he need a drink to steady his racing nerves..wouldn`t be the first....

Personally, and as long as nobody gets hurt, I quite like sportsmen to have a few flaws, it defines them. Tiger, Iron Mike, George Best - just wouldn't be the same if they behaved themselves.

be interesting to see whether the bha do anything because they normally don't involve themselves in motoring offences, if it's not on track and he's passing their tests what he does in his own time might make them leave it, unless they decide to take his licence as a not fit and proper person

I saw him outside the Newbury weighing room a couple of months ago - signing autographs for children whilst vaping.  I remember thinking then, why is nobody advising this guy about his behaviour. Shame as he's as good as R Moore when riding at his best & you could count on him if something had the ability to win he usually got it up.

tend to agree irons, but they stuck some extra requirements on him when he got his licence back like extra test and conduct, so i don't know if they will act if/when he's convicted because of that

Four years ago a pal of mine visited a stable down south.  He was an old friend of the trainer.  By chance that first day Oisin was in attendance and they were introduced.  First thing Oisin asked was “You’re not with the Press are you”?  I suppose they are all a bit paranoid.
