Respect for the mega profit. £100 a month (my limit too) is moronic and incomprehensible.

Affordability Checks.

That’s a big chunk of commission in a short time frame.

This is gonna sound harsh - But I think you need to ask yourself why you need to make a deposit (given the figures you have posted) and is there's anything you could have done to avoid this situation?

It's not like this is a new or unreported issue - we're a good few years into this nonsense now.

Losers are pretty much fecked and have very limited control over their situation; taking your figures at face value, as a winner, you had it entirely within your own gift to avoid this scenario.

Are you withdrawing and depositing regularly? That’s a bit of a red flag to them.

As TM has alluded to, the deposit limit is irrelevant if you’re consistently winning.

I thought the arbitrary £100 per month limit was only for those who refuse to acquiesce to document requests?

I hope you were getting a megatastic rate of interest on that £8k in your bank Cry

You could show them proof of income. That would raise your limit.

Reverting to 2% commission would be much more beneficial due to the way commission generated is calculated:

Commission generated = half of commission paid on winners (half of 5%, or half of 2%) plus half of implied commission on losers (always half of 2.5%).

Implied commission is always 2.5% no matter which commission structure you are paying. So you are paying 3% more commission upfront just to get 1.5% more generated commission on winning markets, and no difference on losing markets.

did drop it down to the 2% when i hit the expert fee as i had no buffer

There is only rule you need to know---DON'T DEPOSIT.

JML IS SPOT ON

You are where you are due to Withdrawals (or more accurately) because your excessive withdrawals forced you to make the deposits that trigger all this guff. You just needed to always maintain an operational balance (and a decent buffer for any variance) in order to avoid ever having to deposit.

Not necessarily IMO, it's behaviour that is as just as important, I'm lifetime profitable but in all the 20+ years on here I have deposited and withdrawn regularly, I am an I/R backer so have big swings either way but my betting behaviour is always the same, bet on the same stuff endlessly, no alterations even when on a losing run.

Maintaining the same betting patterns particularly through losing runs with no hint of appearing to be susceptible to chasing is a really big deal to whether you're pulled by them.

To date I have never heard a peep out of any betting operator on the issue of A/C.

duffy - I think you are giving them far to much credit. You make it sound like there is a sophisticated & intelligent algorithm or that somebody knowledgable & experienced is analysing each "triggered" account in depth before any action is taken. The reality (imo) is much more crude/basic, fallible (and cheaper!).

Being Lifetime Net profitable (assuming your "lifetime" is of sufficient duration) might be what is saving you (imo). But when you look at all the cases I have ever seen, depositing is pretty much always the trigger (as one would expect).

Would it be a daft question to ask, as to why you've only opened a BF account last December?

My trigger for the safer gambling police interrogation was late night and early morning betting activity. Not deposits. However this is as flawed a strategy as saying because i buy wine to drink later on with my daily shop at 1pm i must be any alcoholic because i buy wine at 1pm.

Only chance of doing away with this nonsense is to vote Reform into power next election.

Farage likes a bet and would listen to us! First this he should do would be to disband the Gambling

Commission.

Deposit 100, win a million, withdraw the million, and immediately it's like the million won never existed. You'll still be deposit-restricted.

Why do they never explain such a nonsense approach?
By:
duffy
When: 18 May 25 16:39
Wouldn't make a difference, the books have been restricting for years anyway, this just gave them an excuse to continue, unless they were forced to accept a bet by law like in Spain "which will never happen over here" they won't stop restrictions.

Been saying since the start of all this, the states is opening up to them, they do not need us and don't care.

Mostly bet in running I'd say 98% a loss on greyhounds where I was getting out of positions but they are total blinkered and these people who make these decisions have no clue about gambling so if you do play a different product then that's against the laws because how they treat you it seems that way suppose it's like doing a crime and waiting for the knock on the front door by the Betfair police just no common sense being used
