Report eric_morris December 27, 2024 2:08 PM GMT
I wondered why Mullins was running him at Kempton over 2 miles. I guess connections can forget any pretentions of 2 miles over fences now. In fact he doesn’t really jump them that well for any trip imo. Hurdles for him surely

Report impossible123 December 27, 2024 2:20 PM GMT
Sir Gino is 11/10 for The Arkle and 20/1 for the Champion Hurdle. 11/10 is not a price to take in case Constitution Hill is a no show in the Champion Hurdle.

It seems Cheltenham is almost all sorted just the Gold Cup to sort out. Even this is a 2-horse race it seems eg Galopin Desc Champs and Fact To File.

4yo winning over fences - quite rare
Report Tiger Tiger December 27, 2024 2:53 PM GMT
Henderson said: "The way he did it was frightening, to be honest. He learned over the first couple of fences and then just went. You couldn't see a cleaner performance than that.

"It's nice Nico thinks he's a superstar, but he's got a long way to go still. He's done nothing wrong in his whole life and he's always been a very talented horse with so much scope. Now we've seen what he's done over fences, he certainly can't go back over hurdles and it's pretty obvious where we're going now."

Despite his seven-and-a-half length defeat, Ballyburn was trimmed by Betfair Sportsbook to 3-1 (from 4) for the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase over three miles in March.

Arkle -  Evens Sir Gino, 4 Majborough, 8 Ballyburn, Inthepocket, 12 L'Eau Du Sud, Firefox, Ile Atlantique, 20 bar

Nah Rico, very seldom lay anything, horses have a habit of improving a couple of stone when I do.

Just my observations on the race.
Report Cider December 27, 2024 11:47 PM GMT
The make up of the race didn't lend itself to laying Bally at all. Had effectively one horse running for you, predominately priced on stable reputation. Gino had to back up what they were shouting, and he did. However, relying on what a yard a saying about a horse on those percentages is a sub optimal long term betting strategy.

Nice man, top trainer . Nurtures his horses nad gets them to the racecourse for many years.
Does what it says on the tin surely ?
Report CagliariG December 28, 2024 9:39 AM GMT
I suspect the irritation comes from NH continually defying his detractors by producing the goods when it matters and when he is satisfied that he has done his job to the best of his ability. Several of the usual suspects on here continually slate trainers and jockeys and NH and Nico get more than their fair share.

They should ask themselves why they are stuck in front of a computer whilst the ones they slate are continuing successful careers, might be something to do with them being good at what they do whilst the detractors are simply failures. From SYT winning 3 CH's to the present day NH has few peers in getting his horses right when it counts if it is possible, Binocular, Altior, Sprinter to name just a few.

Not at all, favourite trainer bar none previously. Jeriko Du Reponet first run this year really really stank of something, then very aftertime hints that SG/CH gallop was not at level weights, now he's schooling his classy novice in the dark with 3 people present before Arkle price collapses while the yard were asleep. He has himself in a mess with disclosure of his top horses - can't see when and why this became so, maybe SS episode don't know

seeing as this lad can jump in the dark will not be withdrawing for any heavy, frost, or low sun then? I'm being facetious but hope you see what I mean? He is in a mess with his disclosures, therefore makes punting harder
