The alternative version of Everyday like Sunday Morrisey performed on the Jonathan Ross show was very good. Unusually, considering I didn't like much music from the era, I liked quite a few Smith's tracks.

I have found it interesting the theory/rumour that started on YOU TUBE about the song Panic, and supposed lyrics pertaining to Saville and his antics and a child singing on the track. As blatant as the lyrics, are, to the best of my knowledge they deny it.

Saw them a few times live, always thought too much base and drum and Marrs guitar playing got drowned out.

Happy Hibby, I am not convinced on it either, the thing that made wonder after hearing the theory,
The Leeds side streets that you slip down Hang the blessed DJ (blessed by The Pope) Provincial towns you jog 'round Child singing
All very tenuous links though.

Queen, Bowie, Stones, Elvis, Dylan, Madonna all went through fallow, low-quality songs/periods Even The Beatles and Michael Jackson to some degree.
Believe, The Smiths are right up there, simply because 90%+ of their catalogue is pure quality.

which was always going to result with in running dying a long slow death...

it should have been a 5% commission charge on EVERY winning bet...
nobody would have complained about that imv...
they knew best tho...

Sweetness Sweetness, I was only joking when I said I'd like to smash every tooth in your head Oh sweetness Sweetness, I was only joking when I said By rights you should be bludgeoned in your bed And now I know how Joan of Arc felt Now I know how Joan of Arc felt As the flames rose to her Roman nose And her Walkman started to melt
You don't hear love songs like that nowdays.

The OGWT with Whispering Bob was a mustn't miss for me even though on late at night. Some classic performances over the years. I'd be very surprised if any of you saw Cheech & Chong's Basketball Jones on there in the early days. I got into The Motels & bought their first couple of albums due to their appearance on OGWT. By the way, if there is a horse called Bigmouth running today, must back it as it's sure to Strike Again!
