the new chuckle brothers, we pay their wages as they put us all away
By:
Got to agree so confident about a fav before the race then full of excuses after!
By:
But seriously, how do they monopolise to the extent that they do?
By:
explain ant and dec too while you're at it
By:
Chris Dixon says 'Big Mojo has shown more speed than Mick Appleby probably thought he would'...
in a sort of 'ive never spoken to Mick Appleby in my life' way... doe she think we're stupid ? he's probably never spoken to David O'Meara either ffs... laughable. |
By:
When not on RacingTV they are on Billy Racing radio (Martin anyway).
By:
And both disappear or are struck dumb when one of their legion of horses is about to run. No help from these pundits, maybe their punditry role is based on the Mushroom Strategy- keep 'em in the dark and feed 'em shiite!
By:
So, earnings from Racing TV? £1500 per day plus what, £100 for a shift on Billy Racing radio?
By:
£500+ for willhill
![]() |
By:
one of them is on William Hill radio right now.
By:
I've said it before about the various 'pundits' in racing - why does anyone bother listening to them, I very rarely do.
By:
spot on stu...
problem is the head honchos at telly/radio stations seem to think we sit here every day piningon every word the say... absolute clowns... they could save their channels thousands by not using them but they carry on dishing out the cash. weird imv. |
By:
He made a great call on the hannon horse at chepstow, but like everything in racing, you are only as good as your next tip...Its a thankless "job".
By:
Earning a £ note.
By:
Someone has too.....i dont know what folk expect....He talks well, gets winners, and losers like we all do.
he is in the industry, so is going to get the gig.... |
By:
Someone has too
-------------------- why ? |
By:
because that is the way capitalism works.
By:
I'd rather they gave the money to racing and prize money, but the gravy train isn't slowing down anytime soon.
As Barney would say, you are one of the these takeout merchant |
By:
Wouldn't be so bad if you had independent people on TV and they gave an view, most on the TV are agents, ex-jockeys, wives etc
By:
not in my house it doesn't...
if there were no pundits and they just showed the raw feed from the track and audio from the racecourse commentator i'd probably keep RTV... resulting in more paddock shots... but i ditched it due to the number of pundits they use on a daily basis who say absolutely nowt other than great ride / great training performance / owner is a wonderful human being. |
By:
spot on in hell...
totally agree... trainers sons/daughters... folk who work for trainers... jockeys agents... recent jockeys... it's a complete and utter joke and they're getting nowt from me. |
By:
forgot mates of trainers btw.
By:
Did either of the Dixon 'Tommo Clones' give any encouragement to back their winner Escarpment today? Deafening silence! Unchallenged by the studio co-conspirators, no doubt!
By:
They are both a waste of space just like a lot of presenters on racing uk
I would never pay to watch this channel even it was free |
By:
Probably fall apart like most…..
By:
Ihal, in fairness to him he said that you couldn't trust Escarpment as he was a temperamental sort, but was hopeful.
By:
I'm sure they would quite happily share information from their trainers on their horses if you contributed towards the 30 grand it costs to keep a horse in training per annum
By:
their quite happy to share their thoughts, inside titbits on horses they don't contribute 30 grand a month towards training.big evs.mojo, annos etc etc

The Dixon Bros have two running today, Island Native (2.0 Chep) and Greenwich (8.15 Nwc), both currently showing around the 8/1 mark. Interested in hearing if either or both of the boys drop the Mushroom Strategy and their vow of silence and offer meaningful input on what's expected of the pair, on any of the media channels they are handsomely paid to inform listeners and viewers.
Isleham, what do you think is the role of the pundit? Surely to inform to the best of their ability and certainly not to withhold information! After your brainless comment, I reckon that back in feudal times you'd be quite happy to go along with the custom of the day and have your new bride broken in by the Lord of the Manor on Honeymoon Night! |
By:
I think pundits should be interpretating the formwork and what they see in the paddock and racecourse and not passing on confidential information they get on their own horses
By:
* formbook not formwork
By:
Who are they? Any relation to the Krays?
By:
whatever happened to their Dixon Bloodstock adventure ?
didn't seem to last long when they went on their own. |
By:
Won’t be long until it’s a case of ‘other interests’ tbh…
By:
seemed to just vanish in to thin air aceform...
very strange. |
By:
Probably cash flow hibb….imv
By:
any truth in the line I read somewhere Martin made a million on here ?
By:
they've got about a dozen jobs between them ffs...
