His soft ground form is thin on the ground but his best effort on such ground came in this race last year when third, beaten 3.5L, behind Ugo Gregory, whom he meets on 8lb better terms (when factoring in Sean Kirrane's 3lb claim from last season).
It is also the Timeform pick in any case (FW that's worth), so a decent form chance even without it being his last ride.
Decent chance he gets some fairly favourable treatment in the race from his chums.

Not any rain forecast after about 12.30 today, so ground shouldn't be too soft by 5.00. As said it has some softer ground form too.
Can see them offering a 'surprisingly' easy passage for this one to trot in.

Unsettled conditions this afternoon with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers, some of which could be heavy and locally thundery. The showers will begin to ease late in the day.

Ugo Gregory made the running when winning the race last year, and SDS went off like the clappers on King Of Fury round Kempton last time out, so as Park Street needs a pace to come off given his usual hold-up tactics, it will interesting to see if SDS and David Allan get hooked up in a speed duel.

His only other ride today (16:00 Variety Island), dropping back to 5f for first time since his 2yo days, with a First Time Visor was "off for it's life" imo.

At risk of aftertiming, these pre-announced retirement winners never come off.
The ones we all remember are where the jockey waits for a winner, then retires on the spot.

I selected King Of Fury a couple of times on my thread and he let me down. Not sure about the ground but he's been shaping as though this sort of test may suit.

George.B OK Tony Dobbin had two races on his pre-announced last day at Carlisle. He won on Ballyvoge in the Dobbs Finale & Future Best Wishes Novices' Chase at 4/11 in a field of five.
But he was also on the jolly in the previous race where he pulled up.
But yes, I suppose it counts.

stu -- Choc Thornton was forced out through injury caused by a fall on Say When in his last ride. You must be thinking of someone else. Andrew Thornton was runner-up on his final outing so not him either.
