Julian Wilson was racing manager for Waler Mariti who's Pontevecchio Notte won the City and Suburban handicap in 1987 at Epsom.
Funny how such an obscure fact has stayed in my head for ALL THIS TIME. Trained by Gavin Pritchard-Gordon, ridden by UNKNOWN |

Most memorable piece i remember about Julian Wilson was when he interviewed the Ascot steward following the Royal Gait disqualification , i've got it on tape somewhere , classic stuff.
He was an extremely shrewd punter as well , i can immediately recall the top three customers based on strike rate for odds against bets , all three were unrestricted well known names and he was one of them. |
