if it wasnt for chelt prize money the yard would be shut down, just shows all his wrapping them in cotton wool is bollocks, cant be doing them any good running at the moment

Always something impossible remind me did Constitution ever jump a fence after all the hullaballoo after last year will he won't he hope I'm wrong looks like all his horses might need a sick note looking at what has happened so far.

If this Iberico Lord gets beaten out of sight, i can see him pulling out his horses for the rest of the festival, but lets see how it goes. The ground is atrocious.

What price for Hendo's charge finishing last in the Champion Hurdle? I think connections of Impaire Et Passe must be cursing their horse is not running today given it's heavy.

they'll be one that doesn't flop, esp if it was ill a few weeks ago and is now ok, so the prices are beginning to look tempting, just imagine where the mkt would be if stateman unseats

Just withdraw the horses and spare punters the unnecessary pain and financial loss; the heavy ground is another mega negative for his horses esp Shishkin (remember Champion Chase?). I think this is the least, sensible and decent thing Hendo could do for the horses and punters.
I hope Hendo reassesses tonight post this whitewash. Cheltenham or not, put the horses welfare 1st Mr Henderson.

Any trainer with an ounce of sense would do so for this Festival. The horses are not right - possibly sick; the results so far are reflective of their lack of well-being. It cannot just be the ground.
Shut-up shop and do battle another time.

As an owner i'd fairly mad if he didn't run the horse all season because he was waiting for Cheltenham, and then didn't run the horse!! 20 or 30k down the drain

'FOYLESWAR', no. Sir Gino is a small middle leg Cheltenham accas going onto Newmarket. However, already had a 12/1 City Of Troy for Epsom bet sunk courtesy of Constitution Hill (CH). But, I do not blame CH. It's not the horse's fault he ain't well. It's merely unfortunate timing.

He spends all winter avoiding soft ground then its a soft ground festival and to boot hes out of form. Big day for Nicholls tomorrow too. If his bomb then its just a disgrace for Uk trainers

'FOYLESWAR', Sir Gino is nrnb. I'd a 15p (loose account change) acca with Soul Sister (Oaks), Auguste Rodin (Derby), Ace Impact, CH (10/11) and City of Troy Epsom (12/1) sunk. The payout was only about £55. But, it's horseracing.
If it comes up as soft as today (possibly given forecast) I think Hendo will abort Shishkin's attempt in the Gold Cup.

But for the Festival Hendo will have shut-up shop and chilled until the flu is history. I thought he said when asked by Chapman if Constitution Hill (CH) would run against State Man this season his reply was "Constitution Hill had a long way to go".
I thought CH only had flu, and be gone within days or a couple of weeks; Punchestown is at the end of April - a good 6 weeks away

they look fine in the paddock ,they look fine going down and lining up ,theb y are fine in running for the 1st 1/4 of the race . after that it goes pear shaped ,would you back a horse of his here after the way his have run so far ?

Frankly it now facks up a lot of the markets for the next few days. Wish he would just shut down, get rid of the bug and declare all his horses non-runners as place is his only chance, if he is lucky.

Yet Jingko Blue is still in the opener? I'm not sure of Hendo's stable setup, does he have well separated areas and will know which areas/horses will have been likely affected, what sort of criteria is he using for running / not running if no symptoms are obvious?

Andriy, it's a few years since I visited the yard, but it is very large. They have a big open-air quadrangle and at least a couple of separate large barns.

as said the horses look fine untill they are put in a race ,luccia ran very well and by all accounts they have all scoped clear at home but on the racecourse they dont fire , the problem is unlike humans they cant tell you if the feel well or not so the dilema is should he risk running some of them ? or shut up shop completely .

he has 5 in the pertemps in which i fancy white chino who needs some to come out to get in as a reserve, whens the cut off time for reserves to get in ?,sickner for connections of reserves if hendo waits for tommorrow to pull them out

maybe its just me but Hendersons horses run like this throughout the season bit like Johnstons on the flat you are second guessing a lot of the time either winning easily or tail off with little inbetween
though the betting tells you plenty like the first race yesterday

Yes North-East it is typical Hendo form except this time they are running particularly bad imo. Also he has winners in the mix and this time there are none.

In fairness not sure why Luccia was 33/1 plus and Iberico Lord 11/1.
Last race Luccia finished 7 Lengths in front of it giving it 2lb. So a 9lb swing in her favour as well.
Prev race to that Luccia finished 7 Lengths behind it giving him 10lb, got 7lb off him in the champ hurdle. So 17lb for 7 lengths
Issue is he wraps so many up in cotton wool for Chelt, then they get a bug. Constitution hill has raced once this season. I mean come on, its a racehorse not a show pony, could have mopped up a fair few wins and prize money not coming off the snaff.
In 3 years he has ran 8 times. When you consider he doesn't have hard races and they are at just 2 miles it just isn't enough.

i certainly wont be backing any of em but i am the worst or unluckiest layer known to humanity and i layed sir geno at 2.16 only for a token £30 when i heard he worked with cons hill a while back with my record of laying he will be the one winner hendo gets and will pish up on the bridle so dont despair sir geno backers !

Henderson will have at least 2 stables and it's fair to say he's made a pigs ear of this years festival and CH this season.
If he couldn't run CH because of poor blood test, is he saying the rest are all ok or has he just run them and they then ran terrible. Think he has had his head in the sand or not been very truthful for a goo few weeks about the state of the yard

What was all that earlier in the week then following the gino drift on here all is good think was what he said no worries bit perplexed about that now wasn't that in the RP?

He's ran a fair few... agreed Luccia has done well but rest all pulled up.
Might be passing it to all the other horses racing. It's obviously contagious as all his horses bar Luccia seem to be suffering from it and he doesn't seem to know which ones are affected. I think if it was a smaller trainer the BHA might have even closed the yard down

I hope Hendo has instigated an isolation area for the sick horses. I also hope the flu does not infect the horses his charges ran against. Otherwise, the BHA might be involved.
Sir Gino is the sole big gun from Hendo still with a Cheltenham date; Shishkin has been withdrawn. I hope Constitution Hill and Shishkin go to Punchestown, if they are sound. Otherwise, Hendo ought to consider retirement.

All the McManus runners trained by Hendo have been pulled except Chantry House in the Pertemps? Ridden by Bowen, thank God who has managed a 3rd in Champion Hurdle, a 4th in the Coral Cup and is the only one to have ridden a Hendo winner in the past 2 weeks. It may be clutching at straws but looks worth an e/w at 25/1 with the books.
