How does verifying an account become an AC elise? It doesn't is the simple answer, maybe retrospective due diligence but they are not asking for financials.

Elise- if you don't mind me asking what's your limit? No worries if you don't want to say on AF. Agree net is to big but think they just covering everyone, imagine if you checked 90% of customers and the other 10% cost you 50 million in fines, just far easier for them to do everyone. They should put notes though when they've been checked and it would save alot of hours ringing customers up after a bad run.

Just take a look at the Gambling Commission website. They are loving the fines they hand out. Hate the Bookies but they are basically running scared.

carla, i had it cut from 20k to 3.5k as i don't have any legitimate income, i just keep plenty in there, dont actually deposit very often

just on those checks, the gc were indicating that 8/10 platyers would never see a check, maybe some background soft ID checks were happening but i think because of the nature on the exchanges we are seeing more people fall into the bracket of higher risk

That's a massive drop especially for a long term winner Scared  Did you have to change the why you bet/traded?

Freddie- just last 6 months at the time, scanned them over, took 2 mins for approval.

Nothing to do with the bookies in that sense. I'll post a pic on here, sorry it's quite small but a series of bets under £10 as that is all I was limited to. Then I got this message!

Following a recent in-depth review by our trading team we regret to inform you that your account requires tighter restrictions in the future. This means your account will remain active, however the following limitations will be applied:
You will no longer be eligible for any free bets or cash credits offered as part of any promotional offer from Sky Bet.
Please note your eligibility to promotional offers will be removed on Monday 05th February.

If you are being limited because you are winning, then that's enough to prove you can afford to bet. By anyone's basic logic, including GC.

no, i run a large balance so if i do have a blip like the one i mentioned i could manage ok, it's not ideal because one day i'll drop a massive one and then i may have to beg for a deposit level increase, that said i'm not planning on doing this for much longer

On a side issue, I read a while back changing details on an account can trigger a request.
Well my account is golden, I’m not going into it but if I get a request then nobody is safe.
I havnt had one, but my bank card runs out end of this month and I’m wondering whether updating might cause an issue?
Has anyone refused to add new details and just start taking money out through PayPal?

To avoid the issue of having to update cards I switched to bank transfer withdrawals a few years ago. I've had no problems using this method.

don't always win here carla, i do a variety of things and some of it moves money across to other exchanges / elsewhere, problem is they can only see here so determining what's ok and what's a fck up isn't too easy for them i guess

presumably they can see how old you are, and reside in a country that is nominally free for the moment.

for the moment ... what surprised me was they hadn't actually look at the info they held on my winnings until i asked them to

Yes that would complicate things and trying to explain it to customer service is a nightmare.

frontline is not great, the guys that deal with it behind them are really ok, reasonable and will take time on it

don't know how the internals work but I assume an algorithm simply triggers a case and then the checks initiated. doubt there is any profiling, unless the account is vip.

Elise, do you pay PC/PC2? Are you a 'priority' customer?
By:

When: 16 Feb 24 19:27
yes, i know a few others that have been asked but only after major losses, funnily i think rico may have had a call a year or so back, think it was him that said but u'd need to ask him

something else i just thought of which may help some, one of the times i got picked up i'd changed my strategy / staking levels as i was experimenting with something and that was a trigger so wasn't just a sig loss

Have you seen any bookmakers coming on and mentioning checks on their accounts elise, indy's included and not all solvent all of the time or even long term winners on here? Probably because due diligence has been done over the years which has not been the case for individuals, many of whom have or had multiple accounts which is one of the housekeeping elements going on!!
By:
elise
When: 16 Feb 24 19:40
they  hold a bookmakers licence, they're also on diff types of account the reg users, same for those seeding, hardly likely to call malta and ask them for proof of income
By:

When: 16 Feb 24 19:55
It's called due diligence elise which different accounts or not was not done for individual accounts as it should have been when Indy's could have and did hold. Imo you and others are trying to read things which you think apply generally and include yourselves and which are perceived as some sort of AC check when it is not!!
By:
elise
When: 16 Feb 24 19:59
im well aware it's due diligence, we've discussed this numerous times on here over the last couple of yrs
