If you don't want to give info, take a year off and deposit every month and start with £1200 bank next year.

if you make your living on here then unless you provide some info they are highly likely to stick a deposit limit on your account, just on that they won't include any money you make from gambling so winners whether in running / arbers / traders whatever are going to need other details to allow them to keep a reasonable agreed deposit limit, what they ask for is intrusive but there's no option

if you play for fun / as a hobby and you don't wish to provide you don't need to

I don't think it is private, if you pay tax and have bank accounts they know, obviously legally they not suppose too which is why they have to ask for the info.

bookmakers can't see it and they are being asked to prove they've checked people that are losing money, you'd have to give permission for them to see it and they don't ask for it if they could see credit ratings it might help but they'd still have to show that over a certain level they checked

I don't have mortgage/rent to pay which are the killers especially if you're young, biggest bill is council tax and I hate that DD every month because they do f/all these days, don't even sweep the streets anymore Angry

I don't have to prove my income to get a £16K liability on a credit card (as I stooze I have £100K+ potential liability across over a dozen cards!) But might have to, to place a bet Crazy

Cider, be aware the new gambling regs coming are likely to flag up high credit utilisation and debt-to-income ratios as signs of financial vulnerability. I've stopped stoozing for this very reason.

just to clarify, the bookmakers can't see enough information, especially when dealing withwhat are considered high risk players, the exchnage has always been filled with high risk players

Restrictions on exchanges Duffy. Nobody got that before ac

Fair point but what if they are now thinking of along the lines of, if you are a winning exchange player and it's judged that you might be winning off people who also lose on the fobt's, so they remove you and free up more money for the fobt players.

nobody got restricted on the exchange bcos it was person to person.  now padi's ball deep in every market, he's probably fielding the other side of your bet and as such is a bit jiggy about who he's taking bets from.

So you've played the game and given them your private information just to spend your own money

How does giving id, proof of address and a bank statement prove you're not a compulsive gambler or stealing from your employer to fund it ?

A few I know have limits. They thought it waste of time giving info. .wages minus bills.
Most I know don't touch the sportsbook

They don't care as long as they've done their checks they are clear, it's all about the fines.

personally I have one significant event a year where my liability is 100x + of regular betting pattern. I'm not going to keep that as a bf bank in case I might need it in 9 months. In any case, it might not even be as lucrative this year.

Don't see why not Freddie, you can afford it, only reason I can see is if they've moved the goalposts since 2 years ago but I doubt that.

I still can’t see how they can square the prospect of a person paying PC regularly and them have to ask about your financials to see if you are ‘vulnerable’ enough to deposit.

It didn’t bother then taking half your profit, and that is a no betting transaction, they take it because they think you do too well, it’s totally artificial.

So I’d like to hear if any PC payers are getting asked for this sort of info?

On a side issue, I read a while back changing details on an account can trigger a request.
Well my account is golden, I’m not going into it but if I get a request then nobody is safe.
I havnt had one, but my bank card runs out end of this month and I’m wondering whether updating might cause an issue?

Has anyone refused to add new details and just start taking money out through PayPal?

Different thread but same old song being sung by many, blame Bookmakers etc etc etc when in fact all BF are doing is simple housekeeping by verifying accounts and imposing a temporary limit whilst the admin is done. They may not be doing a very efficient job of it but it is far from affordability checks in accordance with GC proposals.

Blaming the Bookies is boring and stupid, suggesting they want to have their businesses dismantled and restricted makes as much sense as Undertakers  voting to ban pandemics or turkeys voting for Christmas to be twice a year!!!

think they go round and pick up regularly, i've been picked up twice since this came into play, tbf they've been good about it, strangely they didnt look at lifetime earnings before calling they just call people flagged i think, they initially are only interested in your deposit level compared to what they deem reasonable v earnings (no gambling)

toby, it's intrusive and there's a view that it's your money and your choice, they are being forced to check for those out of control but the net is too big (imo)
