Racing TV on sky or virgin

Cable is faster than satellite…..

Well you won't get Racing TV Extra, or any offers on tickets etc. You wouldn't recognised as a subscriber. As far as I aware Virgin don't offer any reductions in price.

Well known to most cable is faster….

I’ve had both in the past and found cable faster,regarding in running purposes I don’t entertain in running…

Browsing etc cable is best imv

Although,most engineers will say it works faster if you are close to the exchange…..

sky ( SSR and RTV) via internet cable is faster than via satellite?

I make RTV 7 seconds behind on-line v. satellite.

where does Virgin cable fit in?

Just got email RTV going up to £30 a month, a lot more mouths to feed, some may say about 50% too many mouths.

On the subject of club day tickets has anyone else been only receiving 1 emailed ticket, depsite having applied for two?

i'm not paying £1 a day to feed Kevin O'Ryan / Lisa O'Neil / Donald Maclean / that Bull bloke / the bloke who says 'fascinating' 1000 times per meeting / Martin Dwyer / Paul Mulrennan / and virtually every other RTV presenter/pundit who adopts a see no evil hear no evil policy.

I got two for Cheltenham last Saturday, despite only asking for one!

I might just cancel racing TV if its gone up in price.  I'm only gambling now and again at the big meetings.  I've already cancelled racingpost subs as its far too expensive for the already-acted-upon content. In addition, the betfair site is awful now with the bots controlling direction of moves.  I can't get a good bet on in a shop and I've been banned from every bookie online.  Greed has destroyed the industry.

The price was already ridiculous for a single stand alone channel, but £30? Same with the Racing Post being the price of a glossy magazine.

The increase beggars belief when you consider they have lost Newbury. Shame they can't lose a few more.

It just relies on the racing audience having more money than sense. I am on a fixed term contract with Virgin so will see if that changes. If it does I will cancel at the end of the jumps season. Couldn't give two hoots about paying to watch Flat racing. It's a yawnfest.

RTV generally faster over sat than cable, think there’s some miscommunication going on here, there’s always been politics involved and there was a period pics over cable were actually faster than sat but that’s the exception to the rule mainly.
Think people got mixed up with cable internet that’s generally faster.

Either way, if you are worried about speed then LV is as fast as you’ll get, the tv pics are paid for excess and slower whichever way you receive em.

On the subject of price, anyone daft enough to pay full price need their bumps feeling. RTV want their cake and eat it. They sell the rights to bookies and want to sell them to punters.
If all you want em for is IR then pay em nowt or next to nowt on the knowledge you can break their balls and not care if they don’t offer you a constant deal.

It’s like owt in life, fools subsidise the shrewd, and in RTVs case they want to sell you other people’s opinions on what you can determine yourself, just as with tipping lines.

I think it's a real shame that you don't get a cheaper option minus any pundits.

They have jobs which many people would struggle to consider to be work. They keep those jobs by ignoring anything negative. Keeping the job is more important to them than being honest with the viewer. I don't think there is any other sport that provides anything like so much unchallenged cheerleading.

presenters/pundits/commentators in all sports these days are pretty much the same imv differentdrum...

totally avoid anything negative...

concentrate / accentuate anything positive they can cling on to...

and generally make out everyone and everything in the sport is utterly utterly wonderful...

it's not just horse racing imv...

my mate says IPL cricket is hideously bad for it...

i just can't listen to it no longer...

ends up winding me up.

I have Sky and RTV paying £18 a month and have now discovered this on the website.....

Cable ought to be faster than satellite unless the feeds are deliberately manipulated.

The journey up and down to geostationary orbit adds about half a second due to speed of light constraints.

whenever I've timed a virgin cable RTV viewer v. my SKY satellite RTV, relayed on the phone, satellite was ahead. So has that changed?

just renewed with Racing Tv today, they wouldn't do £10, but happy to pay £12.49.

dont do in running so dodgy stick will do for me
ascot,newbury on ATR, racing tv are 1,2 races a day at chelt including a bumper from going out of business,the rest you can main races on itv,the later races at aintree arnt up to much and you can watch them on bookies site if you havnt got dodgy stick,they must think their pundits are a far bigger draw than customer,s do ,
best you can say about price rise is, RACINGTV BOT SEEN TO BEST EFFECT , he,d be first to go on my list
