Sun shining, quite strongly, in a clear blue sky, through the leafless trees - but it ain't doing anything to the heavy frost - that was equally distinctly apparent on the parked cars, and gardens, when I walked to the Pub, at around 10:00pm last night, too.

I can remember when we were warned of colder (1960s: dryer 1970s: hotter 2010s: wetter weather all in the last 60 years by highly paid so called long term forecasters.

With the current El Niño in full force, researchers are still puzzling over the 2020–2023 La Niña that upended current understanding of El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) dynamics. The three consecutive years of La Niña conditions – a rare “triple-dip” phenomenon – had widespread impacts on the ocean and climate across the globe. While triple-dip La Niñas have happened before, this one was notable in that it did not conform to conventional theories on how these extended La Niñas develop, leaving scientists searching for clues to explain what caused it.

They don't know what's going on, very quiet, but didn't stop the BBC screaming about el nino and global warming, not much talk about the triple dip la nina, thar all in on a following el nino that will in thar minds prove something, even though the June and July temps for many in uk were not that exciting this year, it's a bad situation for them imo.

Although what I don't understand is that previous forms of this so called triple dip la nina have been preceded by cold winters, but they are having none of it and pressed hard on we won't have a winter before turn of year, might be a late winter but el nino will soon be along to fry us  next year.

Underplaying the risk of cold winter temps is a dangerous game to play, as by thar own admissions they don't know what's going on.

In any case the global warming stats have always accepted that there will still be warm and cold summers and winters but the average over the whole planet will still be on an upward trend. Only about 2 degrees C. higher on average so -5 instead of -7 will still feel cold. There is the usual tripe online. One stated that -7 was the coldest for 17 years but when you dig deeper it meant lowest in November. Only one very slight frost here in Somerset so far this autumn but we might get one tonight.

Only one solution and that will never be considered. Change policies to discourage having children and slowly reduce the population to half what it is now. In the short term make it much more attractive to share accommodation and therefore reduce energy use. 60% of homes have a spare room and if grants for extra bathrooms and kitchen space were made available, most homes could make room for more occupants. Air B&B are making use of some but why give £millions to another big tech company?  I understand the drawbacks but this is much less drastic than banning fossil fuel which will not work. None of the climate activists have an answer to what will happen when all of the electric cars, solar panels and wind turbines need to be replaced and recycled.

Have a holiday cottage next to my house as it happens. Looking to downsize but it is a very big decision and all of the law makes it unattractive to sell a house, take tenants or even free lodgers.

Irrespective of man made or not i suggest you lot go and look at how much climate change has governed human history, both 'local'  and global. Scary how calm things have been for 12 thousand years..........
