Agree with Nineteen..Shiskin had actually started to go clear of Bravesmansgame and Allaho at 2 out , he took off a length and a half clear of both of them. They are both dubious stayers. Hewick didn't quicken they were both weakening. Shiskin would definitely have won.

impossible to say if shishkin would have won or not ,how many times do we see something cruising on the bridle going to the last get beat ? put it this way for example if hewick had fallen or made a race ending mistake at say the 2nd or 3rd last how many on here would have said he was unlucky he would have won?

a race is decided at the finishing line not 2 out .............you dont get paid out on woulda wons
|
|
By:
cant argue with that foyle.so will you now back hewick to beat shishkin everytime they meet off level weight?
|
|
By:
depends on what price ,course distance going and other factors including what other horses are running .........look i dont know what would have happened if shishkin would have got away from the 2nd last without the stumble .....but lets take one or 2 famous finishes .......crisp and red rum ....if redrum had unseated at the last would anyone said he was unlucky would have won ? ....harchibald in the champion hurdle ..........cruising jockey hadnt moved .........if he say for example unseated carbury at the last every most would be saying he woulda pissed up........ and we know how that went .

Frodon was hardly a spoiler for Allaho as he always runs that way. But it did mean Allaho didn't get the easy lead which would have suited him as 3 mls was further than his optimum and he may not be quite as good as he was. BMG may not have got home at Cheltenham, but like a lot of modern-day horses who don't quite get the GC distance 3 mls at Kempton would not be a problem. I just think he's another one who is either on the decline or who has something slightly wrong with him.
I'm really not sure whether Shishkin would have won. I think he was getting towards the end of his tether but might have had the momentum to scrape home. Temperament issues aside I wouldn't touch him in the GC. I imagine he'll go for the Ryanair anyway. |

Shiskin,win by 10Ls if he'd stayed up.
No chance. |

lets move on ......unlucky lucky woulda won wouldna won ............nothing can change the result and we have a cracking looking savills tommorow .time better spent on what might happen tommorow !

BMG lost at least 3 lengths avoiding Shishkin, probably more, so no way Hewick would have beaten him. But as said above it is what it is and gave very little guide to what would happen if those 4 meet again.

Chelt, summit wrong, then refuses, now trips itself up after last, never a dull moment when shishkin is out to play.
Don't think I have ever backed this creature and intend on keeping it so. |

By:
No wonder you are all skint bread and gutter, sageform has him falling and you have him tripping after the last, even Stevie Wonder could read a race better!!
|
|
By:
*after second last, they showed it on itv, clear as day, tripped itself up.

Ray Charles texted Stevie as it happened and got it right!! HTH B& B?

Anyone know how short everything went?
Shishkin must of went low, then Allaho too, followed by BMG was fast and furious carnage |
|
By:
dont know how short shish bmg or allaho went but obviously fingers burnt ,saw somewhere that hewick went around 600+ at some stage
|
|
By:
1.33 shishkin 1.2 alloha bmg never went below evens

Chamberlin told us very quickly post race that Hewick had traded at 650 on here.

Don Cossack fell in the King George and won the Gold Cup. He was 5/2 prior and 12/1 post King George; Shishkin (tripped) is 12/1 for the big one, but no Budget Airline race, according to his trainer.
