Stott now 2 winners from 37 rides following another tactical nightmare on Buccanero Fuente. was that his fault? what did he do wrong? |

safe whilst he.s with megan

Another jockey would've made all the difference today, especially as
the wnr is only 6/1 for the Derby. |
By:
Not sure what the winner being 6/1 for the Derby has to do with it. It was a virtual walkover today. One of the worst Group 1's of the season, and a terrible renewal.
The tactics by AMO made no sense as it just set up for the winner, but even if they set a crawl Bucanero Fuerte ran such a pathetic race it would have made no difference. As for Stott he is really ordinary (and dull as dishwater to listen to), but how much choice do AMO have? It's hard to find a diamond in a bag of rubbish. |

By:
Stott is commercial nothing else he bottled the Derby…..sacking awaits
By:
What it has to do with it,whoever was on that Amo horse
would'nt be winning. |

By:
correct penzy..peeple tarkin pony..

By:
Tbf, I don't think AMO will be around too long!
By:
Don't know about that.Didn't they buy a horse for
quite a big amount not too long ago?In the region of £900K. Could be a different outfit though. |

Paid 1.1M dollars for a colt about a month ago.
Thought it was them. |

Overpaying is usually the start of the end.
By:
or is it the end of the start? or the beginning of the end or the end of the beginning?
if overpaying is a harbinger of doom then godawful is the most drawn-out denouement of all time |

Oil wells help.
By:
Oil-wells? Not really that relevant. The interesting bit is the reason for the decline in Godolphin's fortunes. Lack of funding? - a bit, Declining interest by SM - Yup.. Issues with previous sheikha - Yup and related to declining interest. Contrast with smaller scale Shadwell pretty striking now.
By:
Godolphin seem to have gone quiet after the magic sauce was turned off.
Stands to reason. |
By:
As if Shadwell are in anyway a comparison to Godolphin. They are a subsidiary having a dood run. The whole arab show relies on Shk Mo and lets hope he gets some success next year. Finding another trainer would help.
By:
Truehoncho - "As if Shadwell are in anyway a comparison to Godolphin" Same family, two brothers (one RIP), AND I did say "Contrast with smaller scale Shadwell" They'd be a bit cross to be described as a subsidiary. Particularly given this years stats.
By:
truehoncho - Sorry I did not read your post carefully enough. Shadwell is not a subsidiary of Godolphin. Shadwell is not dependant upon SM funding or support. Hope this helps.

Of course it is.

Who next for AMO then? Harry Davies, Billy Loughnane or someone else?
By:
Amo seem to be following a pattern founded by the likes of Terry Ramsden and other high flyers. It will be interesting to see where they go next both for jockeys and trainers and what they buy in the Autumn Sales.

By:
The owner of AMO is a football agent, correct? And, with the surgence of Saudi Football League I think this source of income could be prolonged at least for the near to middle term.
Stott did make a couple of elementary errors on King Of Steel, so did Ms Doyle; Coolmore was gifted the race on saturday. Maybe Mr Dettori could be "paid" to ride for a set-fee (dependent of status of the race) plus a percentage of breeding/disposal fee. That could tempt big owners including Coolmore (to deny others for his service). |
By:
The spending power of Amo is their own private information but the costs of having that many in training is enormous and if they don't keep winning, the pot might run dry.

Kevin Stott will no longer be riding as retained jockey to Amo Racing after revealing he had been sacked by owner Kia Joorabchian in a text message on Monday.
Stott, who began working for Amo Racing at the start of March, has enjoyed considerable success for the increasingly powerful operation this year, most notably aboard Derby runner-up and King Edward VII Stakes winner King Of Steel. However, Joorabchian was unhappy with Stott's ride aboard King Of Steel in Saturday's Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes, in which the pair finished fourth. Joorabchian said in an RTE interview that Stott had "made a couple of mistakes" on King Of Steel and that the Roger Varian-trained three-year-old "wasn't given the best chance to win" at Leopardstown. Speaking to the Racing Post on Monday, Stott said: "I was informed this morning that I will no longer be riding for Amo Racing. It was obviously very disappointing news but a reason for the decision was not given to me, so there isn't a lot I can say. "I do want to thank Kia and all the Amo trainers for the opportunities given to me this year. There have been some incredible moments, one of them being riding Amo's first Group 1 winner. "What has happened is disappointing but I'm still looking forward to the rest of the year and beyond." Stott becomes the second jockey to leave the Amo job in controversial circumstances. Rossa Ryan announced he had split from Amo during last year's Ebor festival but that was refuted by Joorabchian, who only confirmed the termination of their association a number of days later. That relationship was revived this year when Ryan partnered 150-1 Amo second string Valiant Force to land Royal Ascot's Norfolk Stakes. The 29-year-old Stott, who rode as principal first-choice jockey for Kevin Ryan until opting to go freelance last October, helped Amo break its top-flight duck when Bucanero Fuerte won last month's Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh. Stott has also struck at Pattern level for Amo this season in the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes, Oak Tree Stakes and Craven Stakes, while he came within half a length of winning the Derby aboard King Of Steel, who followed his Royal Ascot triumph by finishing third in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Stott has ridden 81 winners in Britain this year and was on Sunday declared to ride one Amo-owned runner at Leicester on Tuesday as well as a two-year-old maiden for Ryan. The Danish born rider, who enjoyed a career-best 116 winners in 2022, gained his first Group 1 success aboard the Ryan-trained Hello Youmzain in the 2020 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot. |

Oisin Murphy for my fiver.
By:
Agree with Honcho.
By:
Murphy is with the owner of Roaring Lion, is he not? Also, he's Balding's horses to run. I do no think Murphy would want that position.
Dettori on pay-per-ride basis plus commission and percentage of breeding fee. |

Stay AWAY from Amo Racing in my advice.

helps when the geezer came on tv the day before and basically blamed the jockey for finishing 4th in the Irish Champion Stakes. thought it should have won so basically the jockey cost him €662,500. guys a greedy football agent aka a complete merchant banker. |
By:
^ horse should clearly have finished closer at least if ridden properly, rather than like a non stayer.
