Can't sue, you could have disclosed your finances
but chose not to. Or disclosed finances and couldnt make a deposit. You might be part of a class action for invasion of privacy. I still can't see why my bank can't regulate my gambling, rather than a bookmaker, if I deposit by card. |

1) I won't be betting if I cannot bet on here. Mentally I would not be able to handle backing an 8/1 winner that was 12/1 on here.

I'd encourage everybody to set a loss limit of £1 for everything except the exchange.
1) It confirms that you know what you're doing, and may well be enough to pre-empt an affordability check at this stage, before the GC rules kick in 2) It stops hackers playing silly buggers with your account. Small but relevant difference Yes, by assessing salary not capital. Which is further evidence the state don’t want people who arn’t working, gambling. If you gamble for a living or a side hustle you are in the targets. I’ve said many times, where’s the logic in saying a person isn’t financially vulnerable enough for state help having 16k in capital and no job….but having 16k in capital and no job they are considered financially vulnerable enough not to be allowed to bet? |

I was surprised to read your opening post, and would hardly consider you a 'problem' gambler by any means so i totally understand your reaction and sentiment. Are these requests for financial details being created by AI or human ? I've been asked for ID in a Corals and PP (once in each shop) and i'm happy to show my residency card, but not for them to make a copy, i don't have high street betting accounts anyway Irrespective of the above, its regretful to read you may not be posting here in future. We all know the forum is not what it was and has been regressing more than the sprinter Nobel Style for some time, trolls, bet editors, fantasy merchants etc and several decent posters simply don't bother with it anymore. The majority on here would agree with me that your knowledgeable contribution to this forum over the years has been well received and respected. It will be missed. From a personal perspective i was flattered and grateful you often posted on my thread. Many thanks for the kind words you posted a few days ago, i will respond later. A person an a very average salary gets waved through to continue betting in 10ers keeping the bookies lubricated, while somebody who has accumulated more capital that that worker will in the whole of their working life gets restricted.
To add insult to injury the GC recommend any profit made by gambling over a week ago is disregarded. Like the trap of Christianity’s forbidden tree, it is a trap set that will only serve to catch people in time. |
