"Pluck and remove the innards from their chickens".  AND make amazing gravy - and with the boiled remains - Gizzard for dad, Liver for Mum, Neck for me and Heart for my sister. Townie kids din't know what they were missin.

We did all that and we were certainly "Townie" kids in Hackney, East London.

Know all the verses of the ' Alphabet Song ' (you probably needed to play rugby or cricket back in the day ), and you would probably be arrested for singing it today .

yeah!
Forgot about that event when you'd be sat in the bar with someone who had had their radio stuck to their ear relaying the racing results.
Mark off the first three or four and pass the paper around.

Hear them play the national anthem at the cinema or at the end of tv for the night. They also dont say say “ Good night and Nor Stah “
( welsh ? ) before the end of programmes. There is no end now !

Getting a free pack of chewing gun on the 4th turn on a chewing gum machine (you never knew which was the 4th turn when you would be given an extra pack for free along with the one you had already paid for)
Collectors of 60's /70's slot machines will know this fact.Gambling was hidden in these type of vending/amusement machines at that time ,That;s where you get the bars in fruit machines. The bars represent chewing gum.

getting paid out in brass tokens when you won the jackpot at the local arcade.
You could exchange the tokens for food or gifts. That's when the government cared about people.

The dogs chasing bikes is a good one. Just reminded me that with the price of dogs you don't get strays anymore, or mongrels as there are no strays to reproduce!

Milk tokens. No idea where you  bought these from but you left them on the step for the milkman , I think.

Jimnast, yeah, my barber takes about 2 minutes running the clippers over my bonce...
Then another 5 minutes poncing about to justify his fee...
Saddo, I understand that in certain cities and towns, the barber shops are fronts for illegal activities

Perish that thought immediately that there might be any money-laundering going on amongst the utter explosion in Culturally-Enriching Barber Shops up and down this compliant land. Couldn't possibly be going on.

NINE of a certain well-known type have opened in a town not too far from here this last year or so.

Hair has never been in such profitable hands.
