Touched a nerve and got the expected response. An angry and bitter man.

@ penzance.

Pumpkin hasn't had a festival winner for years.  And EA had course form and soft-ground form.  So if not down to Pumpkin, who?  Went out like a light after 2 out.

No match for the p1key horses but really should've been in the frame on form.

Exactly stewarty.  Long ago.  In horse terms.  As they say in pig-latin, "illegitimi non carborundum"

(For the less than literate - "don't let the b@st@rds (sic) grind you down").

Nicholls now saying he needs further, and he will go up in trip at Aintree. Brilliant deduction, shame he needed to rack up another Ballymore loser to realise his mistake.

Nicholls doesn't care about novice hurdles. He's always thinking about what will be best for the horse's career as a chaser. And, frankly, Stage Star and Bravemansgame have vindicated that approach this season.

First and foremost Nicholls likes to prove people wrong. It would likely have done Hermes Allen's future prospects no harm to have run in the Albert Bartlett. That's much more of a stepping stone for a potential Gold Cup horse than the Ballymore which historically has been a Champion Hurdle trial.

Nothing stopping him trying to turn it into a stamina test though and sending him to the front, he just sat there behind a horse that was hanging and not taking him anywhere and waiting to get outpaced.
