those that went right of rail 1st time around yet went inside 2nd time around must have had a brain freeze - shuda just stuck to same course and then if they hav fooked up then tekk it on the chin CrazyCrazyCrazy

As Stuart Machin pointed out no "H" (hurdles track) marker on that little strip seems to be key, but then that seems a bit farcical as it means you can go either side which I've never seen in a non X country race

I used to do orienteering when I was a boy, so this would never happen to me, as long as they put a hole puncher on the rails. Terrified of horses though

Correct - Then it is down to the Vagaries of the Clerk of the Course ...

Which side of the intended Track do you place the 'H' or 'S'?

Pound to a Penny that it is different at Exeter than Ludlow - the way Racing is run.

I cant see how the FPTP can possibly win

Take 1 route 1 lap one the next.

One of the routes must be wrong?

FPTP should be thrown out, but that would constitute the stewards admitting someone fooked up with the signs.  so leave it as it is and hope everyone forgets about it.
