It said that a jury found him guilty..
I've done jury service twice and although the judge gives you directions, I'd like to think that enough of the jury members would say I'm not convicting him..May have been hung jury and possibly retrial at worse

watching now..i feel for the lad..low life feral rats on his property..but,you cant dish out punishment officially..very lucky he wasnt on a murder charge tbh..and if the low lifes are connected to others it could make things uncomfortable unfortunately..

I've only just calmed down enough to comment after an almost identical situation, i would of been in prison for an awful lot longer as the boys were on foot when they took of from my house, i missed one of the lads by inches in my car he jumped over some concrete bollards at the end of my road, the red mist that came over me that night was all encompassing, i had lost a parent the day before and i was in emotional turmoil, my kids and wife were so upset that night i wanted blood, even now makes the hairs on my arms stand on end talking about it.Angry

problem is though these low life scum have no morals nowadays..they'll torch ya car on a whim..there is no easy easy solution if you're a normal family person.

You just cant think rationally in this situation, even the most levelled headed person put in this position would do the same once your family is in jeopardy, pure feral scum who will have a criminal history as long as your arm, and keep getting suspended sentences or community service.

think you will find it would have been an 'involuntary manslaughter' charge Mr.Hunt...

big difference.

if you hit someone with a vehicle intentionally and kill them its murder...

stick to moaning and leave the law to people that know.

dc.

the word 'intentionally' would be the sticking point in your argument Mr.Hunt...

how could anyone PROVE he did it intentionally ?

good luck with that argument.

chasing a motorbike over a distance at high speed then steering toward them if caught on cctv would been deemed as dangerous and done intentionally.

i'm talking about THIS issue Mr.Hunt...

the CPS could not argue (in my opinion) that when he left his house and got in his car his intention was to kill the two runtbags...

hopefully someone with expertise in that field will pop on here and confirm this scenario...

i will pop on after the afternoon session and see if there is an update...

good day Mr.Hunt.

there is no argument he drove dangerously.. if cctv showed he knocked them off intentionally and ended up dragging one under his car and killing either of them im merely saying 'it' so easily could have ended up a murder scenario.

compare this with what we are discussing... not guilty of anything was 1,000,000/1 with me. utterly incredible outcome.

Mr White was actually charged for causing injury by dangerous driving, if they had been killed i'm pretty certain that the CPS would have charged him with causing death by dangerous driving and would most likely be facing a manslaughter charge with probably a 5/10 year sentence. Don't think he could be charged with murder as would have to prove intent which would be very difficult to prove.
An ex neighbour of mine got 5 years imprisonment for causing death by dangerous driving when a drunken women fell backwards of the pavement right in front of his speeding car, 50 in a 30 limit, went right over top of car, he drove off in a panic and later drove to police station after getting his wife to say she was driving because he had drink or drugs in his system, police soon found out the truth.
He quickly went into an open prison and was home most weekends after about 6 months, also had the conjigal rights visits in prison, i was working 6 days a week in my business and he was home more than me!
This chap actually got sentenced to 22 months but did from Feb to Sept when released so 7 months in the clink.

Mr.Hunt getting all carried away with this murder nonsense...its there in black and white..i'll reiterate..if he had deliberately steered his vehicle off its intended line and rammed them intentionally and it was caught on cctv he'd be on a murder charge.

i wasn't there...

you need PROOF in a court of law Mr.Hunt...

that's just basic stuff tbh.

prosecution lawyer to the jury...

'do you think Mr.Hunt deliberately hit them ?'...

jury says after discussing it for 5 minutes 'well we have no proof but we think he probably did'...

right that's 30 years for murder...

dear oh dear Mr.Hunt...

you've backed yourself in to a very dark corner here...

lets go back 10 posts to the facts what i said...

'IF' there was cctv and they died it would have been a murder charge.

if the portuguese police 'had' been allowed to do their jobs without political intervention the mccanns would have been in jail..alas no!

sometimes ewe can be lucky.

no Mr.Hunt...

i'm taking things down to YOUR level to show how utterly ridiculous your argument is...

you made a naive statement about him being lucky he wasn't done for murder...

you could have backed off but as per usual you are too pig headed to do so...

and you end up backing yourself in to a very small dark corner...

phone or email Sir keir Starmer...

see what he reckons.

you clearly don't understand that not every time someone kills someone it is MURDER...

check gov.com for government court guidelines..there no such thing for a motor accident...
its either murder if deliberate or causing death by dangerous driving.
learn the law..books are on ebay.

Rico is right Hibby, just came down to the CPS basically doing the chap a favour imo.Had one of the scrotes died it would most likely have been a charge of murder and down to a jury to decide whether intent to cause bodily harm,no need to prove intent to kill.hth
By:
HappyHibby
When: 30 Nov 22 17:15
there was absolutely no chance of the CPS going down the 'murder' road on this one Cagliari...

he did not leave his house and say 'i am going to get in my car and kill these 2 runtbags'...

and even if he did how could the CPS prove that ?

murder was never a possibility here...

naive to think otherwise.
By:
CagliariG
When: 30 Nov 22 17:20
The point is they could have Hibby and makes no difference his intent on leaving his house,he had plenty of time to form the intent therafter!!
By:
HappyHibby
When: 30 Nov 22 17:25
i disagree Cagliari...

i cannot see how any CPS officer could pin a charge of MURDER on the lad (if hed've killed any of the runtbags)...

we will never know i suppose...

the bar has to be pretty bloomin high when it comes to charging someone with murder...

INTENT needs to be proved...

anyway i have made myself a roast chicken dinner and i ain't letting it get cold...

and i will be taping The Singing Detective tonight on BBC4 as i missed it when it was originally on...

so it's goodbye from me and it's goodbye from him...

goodbye.

It's all pointless anyway.

The government has just announced we have nearly run out of prison places, partly because there are so many held on remand because it can take two years for cases to come to trial, by which time half the witnesses have moved and the other half have forgotten what they saw. (Maybe this was a factor in @the dealer's police accepting a plea in his daughter's case on the first page of this thread.)

Just for your info Hibby,in Scotland when an RTC occurs involving a fatality it is not unusual for the surviving driver to be charged with murder unless or until the circumstances prove otherwise!!
By:
HappyHibby
When: 30 Nov 22 17:55
that's fine Cagliari...

i should have known someone like Mr Hunt would know his way around the rule of law book...

he got lucky by saying 'he was lucky he wasn't charged with murder' but fair enough...

just as a matter of interest...

the bloke who careered his bin lorry in to the public on the streets of Glasgow...

what happened to him Cagliari ?

he walked away scot free didn't he ?
