Disagree with that rico. I still bet last 2 furlongs on lv from time to time, both flat and jumps and doing fine.

Can still bet last 2 furlongs if looks 'likely' winner imo...obviously if its clear cut then different story

I dont mean sub 1.1s when 2l clear or something but plenty races theres still a few in with a chance last furlong etc where you can still bet

Probably because vast majority you know will have been in the boxes with you with a huge advantage for years but theyre now getting found
out on a near level playing field. I'd be very surprised though, if all those that were in the boxes with you though,  that there wasnt still a couple
of them at least that are still winning backing.

They surely aint all losing just because its went levels for most

Finally, sense.

Instead of those with their feet previously under the table inventing the bogeyman because they cant face the fact it was the time that kept them afloat

Well, I've said I'm very modest profits, over 18 years, 100 quid a week on average.

But if someone said to me pre Betfair when I was walking out of the bookies potless day after day if I fancied winning 100 a week for the next 18 years I'd have thought I'd won the lottery!!

I'm only a small punter these days just enough to keep the brain ticking over and the majority of my betting (which itself is now mostly lays) is in-running. All bets done at home over not very high speed broadband using Racing TV or BLV and Betfair only software. I have to admit I'm also not very quick.

Although it's definitely got harder and much fewer gimmes, I still regularly make a profit so it can be done.

Win £100 one race, lose £97 the next, pay £2 commission on £3 of winnings, total charges are 67% of your profit, and no premium charge.

Do that over 28 in-running races a day, and you make £14/day, or £98/week, and no pc.

Haven't a clue whether that is how duffy operates.

Think your working is wrong there screaming.

28 races, 14 wins 14 losses
Win 1400
Lose 1358
(While technically they pretend you don’t pay commission on losses, you effectively do as they half the amount of commission you actually pay)

Profit 42-28 = 14 quid a day (50p a race, where bf make a quid a race off you)
Having paid 28 commission in reality

(14/42)*100= 33.3% so no PC and you won’t live long enough to qualify for HRPC @40% requirement.

50p a race net and a bucket load of risk.
