I usually go for the four weekdays and love it; the highlight of my year. Like to elsewhere in Ireland for the weekend after. Stay at the Clarence in Dublin and get a cab or the special bus to and from. Its like Cheltenham without the queues and the ****s. Many of the same horses. Top stuff!
The Father Breen is always a challenge and is usually the first race but now its at 7.00pm. I don't think it inconceivable that 16 year old Enniskillen could nick this, or at place at decent each way odds.
punts its not as simple as that.i would argue there is value in backing the mullins bigger price horses .factor in that patrick has 7 rides left against professionals in his quest to beat jamie codd then your left wondering who has the first choice pick. there must also be a doubt about the fitness of townsend which complicates a murky mullins scenario even more. one thing dont dismiss the pricier mullins horses as im sure he will have double digit priced winners.

Looks a tricky punting card but if folk aren't excited about watching the champion chase and the novice chase then they're not NH racing fans imo.

We run two in the Grade 1 Champion Novice Hurdle over 2 miles. Paul has picked Blue Lord who fell at the last when destined for the runner-up position behind Appreciate It in the Supreme at Cheltenham. He is a course and distance winner here and his form in Ireland and England stacks up. Patrick rides Echoes In Rain who was hugely impressive at Fairyhouse last time. On official ratings there is nothing between our two and hopefully one of them will do the business.
We have seven chances in the 2 mile handicap hurdle over 2 miles. Whiskey Sour (Hugh Morgan) is returning after a long break and it is hard to see him being competitive here. Gentleman De Mee (Jody McGarvey) ran very free when finishing unplaced at Cheltenham so we are dropping him back in trip here in the hope that it will help him settle. He needs to leave his Cheltenham run behind if he is to get involved here. Ruaille Buaille (Danny) is a course and distance winner and ran a very promising race when third at Fairyhouse last time. That form gives her a big chance in an open race. Dysart Diamond (Donie McInerney) won at Leopardstown at Christmas but she has had two poor runs since. Getaway Gorgeous (Bryan Cooper) has the advantage of being a course and distance winner. However, she has just been disappointing during the winter but maybe the spring weather will suit her better. Jazzaway (Conor McNamara) hasn’t run since finishing second at the Galway Festival but that form looks very good in the context of today’s race. Her homework has been good and if the lack of a recent doesn’t catch her out she could be good each-way value. Hybery (Brian Hayes) has been very disappointing and wears cheekpieces for the first time today. Ideally we would prefer to run him over a longer trip but he is not guaranteed to get into the longer races later in the week.

He is a real summer bumper/hurdle type who will run a solid race here. The track and ground will suit. Hemlock (Patrick) was fifth at Clonmel earlier this month and that form wouldn’t be good enough here. However, he has improved since and we are hoping he will get into the firing line today.
We have three of the four declared runners for the Grade 1 Champion Novice Chase over 3 miles. Franco De Port (Bryan Cooper) has a lot to find on form but we are going out in trip here to see how he copes. He is settling better as he gets older and we think he will be a staying chaser going forward. Monkfish (Paul) is unbeaten this season. He wasn’t as impressive as he can be at Cheltenham but hopefully he will get back to his fluent jumping and galloping style today. Always has been one Festival to many for me although i must admit i wont miss the clash between Envoi Allen V The Jumping Wardrobe....If there is any Justice Envoi will take him apart and i will be backing him to do so.

Gain De Cause 9th each time it has run. Full marks for consistency. Is that as good as he is? That's the guessing game. Last time he seemed to be in an ideal position behind the leaders, but then lost that position for no obvious reason. Testing the water? Today will answer that question. I haven't backed it, preferring to waste a few quid on the two bumpers on the each-way extra. Market would suggest no superstars in either race.
This is going to be one for the purists. Not many betting opportunities as far I can tell
Yes punts tough day for punting, as anticipated. All I can see is a decent double in the coin toss races. Echoes in rain and monkfish for me. My confidence increased when I saw that horrendous goose in the mirror "tip" the other 2. That's blue lord and envoi allen carrying an extra stone.
Seems to be an overkill of low grade handicap hurdles, perfect for those who have been hiding away all season. Races framed for the insider, rather than your general punter.

taking a chance on uhtred each way in the 4.15,blue lord can pull and dont seem the easiest ride plus gotta get over the fall ,echoes in rain more soild and gets 7 pound but joseph in better form now and this lightly raced type is unexposed 20/1 each way 2 places and 10/1 each way 3 places will do for me .

You've got to wonder what chance Patrick's horse has in the last if he was trying to get off it to ride the reserve (who has now been pulled out). Obviously it could still be better than the others but it doesn't instill major confidence.

Gosden is probably comparable on the flat when he hits form, though I don't see him churning out 4 and 5 timers.
Mullins has a good team around him and is one of the best trainers ever.And will only get better as years go on.

He has a great chance on the ground and over this trip. Fighter Allen (Bryan Cooper) has been a little disappointing over the winter and is really more of a chaser than a hurdler. This trip is fine for him and hopefully the better ground will bring about some improvement. Marajman (Danny) has been off the track since winning a maiden at Clonmel over a year ago so he might find this difficult.
We have two in the Grade 1 Novice Hurdle over 3 miles. Stattler (Danny) will like this trip and has a good each-way chance. Galopin Des Champs (Paul) was very good in the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham and that form gives him a top class chance here. He’s in good order.

We think he has every chance of running above his Cheltenham form where he didn’t sparkle in the last mile. The likely pace here will really suit. There were not many opportunities this week for Easy Game (Brian Hayes) so he takes his chance here. He will like the ground and might pick up some nice prize money. Kemboy (Danny) sets the standard here having won the last running of this this race. He came out of Cheltenham very well and will love this ground. Melon (Patrick) didn’t fire at Cheltenham and it is difficult to see him winning today.

Mullins has a good team around him and is one of the best trainers ever
Yeah cloone the guy is pretty much in a class of his own.
I forgot to mention AOB> He can churn out 4 timers too.
Something in the grass in Ireland
Having around 50% (+ sometimes) of the runners helps as well
They is a very good reason why he has 50% of the runners spyker.

CDO not the strongest finisher in racing. Level at the home bend thought only one winner.

We run four in the Grade 1 Champion Stayers Hurdle over 3 miles. First-time cheek pieces might help Bacardys (Sean O’Keeffe) but realistically a share of the place money is all we can hope for. Patrick has elected to ride Klassical Dream who will wear a hood for the first time. He has been off for a while but is fit and ready to start back. This will be his first time over this trip and we are expecting a decent run. Saldier (Danny) won the Morgiana Hurdle here and if at his best has the class to win this. James Du Berlais (Brian Hayes) works well at home but didn’t shine at Cheltenham. It’s a tough task for a 5yo but he could be suited by this longer trip.
Capodanno (Jody McGarvey) runs in the 3 mile handicap hurdle. Was fourth over this trip at Fairyhouse earlier this month and should give a good account of himself on ground he will like.

Cool Jet ran in the Cheltenham Bumper and takes a big a big drop in class today. He will have the benefit of Jody Townend’s valuable 7lb claim and that should enable him to be competitive.

Janidil (Mark Walsh) is improving and is certainly not without a chance. This trip is fine for him and he will appreciate this nicer ground.
We will have three runners in the 2 mile Mares Listed Novice Hurdle. Gauloise (Paul) ran well in Fairyhouse last time and we think she will improve on that run today. She should be a big player here. Hook Up (Danny) has a bit to find on the book but will be suited by this track. The West Awaits (Brian Hayes) is taking a big step up in class. This will tell us what sort of ability she really has.
We run two in the winners’ bumper. Patrick goes for Dysart Dynamo who was very impressive when winning a bumper at Clonmel last month. Hopefully he can build on that and get seriously involved here. Cool Jet ran in the Cheltenham Bumper and takes a big a big drop in class today. He will have the benefit of Jody Townend’s valuable 7lb claim and that should enable him to be competitive.
Out of that lot I like his Mare Gauloise (19:05) and will prob back her later

Willie Mullins:
We have three runners in the 2m 5f handicap chase. Asterion Forlonge (Bryan Cooper) has top-weight for his first run in a handicap chase. We have a good record with top-weights in this race and this fellow likes the track. We are putting a tongue tie back on him here and he should run a nice race. Antey (Danny) has been disappointing all season and it will be great if he can get into a place on a track he likes. Fan De Blues (Brian Hayes) is still a maiden over fences but jumps well and has plenty of experience. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he upset the odds off his light weight.
We also have three in the mares’ handicap chase over 2m 5f. Salsaretta (Danny) pulled up in the Irish National and will be suited by all the watering. However, she would have to come back to her best to have any chance today. Augusta Gold (Brian Hayes) ran okay in the Irish National and that form gives him a chance here. He could be each-way material. Contingency (Bryan Cooper) is returning after a very long break and we will be happy if he comes home safe and sound.
Sharjah (Patrick) goes for the Grade 1 Champion Hurdle over 2 miles. He was second to Honeysuckle in the Cheltenham equivalent and it is hard to see him turning the form around here. It would be a great result if he finishes second again.

Gaillard Du Mesnil (Paul) has a difficult task to try and turn around Cheltenham form with Bob Olinger who beat him by over seven lengths in the Ballymore. However, he came out of the Cheltenham race well and looks the most likely one in this field to put it up to the favourite. Realistically our other two runners are running for place money. Ganapathi (Bryan Cooper) found the trip too sharp in the County Hurdle but that experience will help him here. N’golo (Danny) ran too free in the Albert Bartlett but a change of tactics here might enable him to get a good share of the prize money.
Billaway (Patrick) runs in the Champion Hunters Chase over 3 miles. He has had a busy season and had a hard race at Aintree last time. If the Aintree race hasn’t left too much of an impact he should go very close today.
We have five runners in the 2 mile conditions novice hurdle and this race will give us a good steer as to where we go with them next season. El Barra (Sean O’Keeffe) had been a bit disappointing until winning at Fairyhouse last time and his future may lie over fences. He has a good each-way chance here. Elite Charboniere (Brian Hayes) won easily at Leopardstown last time but that form doesn’t look good enough to win here. Grand Bornand (Danny) was hampered when finishing last behind Echoes In Ran last time. He is better than he has shown on the track and hopefully different tactics today will get him into the first four. If M C Muldoon (Patrick) improves his jumping he could give the favourite a run for his money. He will improve a lot on drier ground. Wearapinkribbon (Bryan Cooper) is coming back after a long break and we will be happy if he runs well and returns sound.

If I was the owner I'd be seething that Townend wasn't on it.
Purposely did Kennedy around the bend, won him the race. If the interference was after the last he'd be thrown out.

Klassy Kay was 6.8 before damn now well backed (not that this means anything). From memory she is not the best jumper.
Patrick Mullins I often wondered how many winners he'd ride if it wasn't for his dad. Horse there is pulling and he pulls it out instead of burying it. Woeful.
