Aye Move. Why not. But it would have to apply to men as well.

We're stuck indoors anyway.

It's alright for the BLM marches and taking the knee but as soon as a small group of young women stage a vigil and protest against how safe they feel out walking, what do the Police do? They bring out the dogs and arrest people. What is this world coming to?

A lovely young woman minding her own business and doing harm to no-one is murdered. Her family won't be getting $29 million dollars as George Floyd's family just have.

Agree, the police have totally got this wrong, it is blatantly wrong to allow BLM marches to take place at the height of the virus yet clamp down on young women now the r rate is low.
To me this just shows the police were frightened to intervene with BLM rallies, whereas the young ladies posed no real threat  at all. Did the Duchess of Cambridge get moved on or arrested?

Garbage, I don't think so, you can't police one demonstration totally differently to another, woman have been unsafe to walk the streets at night alone for as long as I've been alive,or don't you think they have the right to demonstrate about it?

Quite agree the real issue is why the police didn't go in hard against the BLM mob.
Reclaim the Streets is a quasi anarchist group who a few years ago delighted in bringing London to a halt by jamming up Friday night rush hours with hundreds of bikes. Most law abiding sensible people should applaud the fact they broke up last night's illegal gathering.

The government now apologising for images of Met Police kneeling on a young woman holding a vigil about their safety. This isn't Hong Kong. I wonder they didn't use smoke bombs and stun grenades.

s r,it was not organised as a demonstration marketed as a vigil although that was clearly not what the organisers were doing.Quite simply it was illegal and anyone attending was out to cause trouble and have achieved the aim.The police should in this instance straight away lock them up 1 by 1.Get any CCTV photos etc knock on the doors of offenders 1year in jail min.Lets hope these people get a knock knock.

s.o.w more garbage spouted.Plain and simple broke the law pay the price,as they say if you can't do the time don't do the crime. These people are criminals plain and simple ,perhaps the worst kind of offender they knew what they were doing was illegal and carried on regardless of that fact.Any leaders infarct anyone that can be identified should face justice and without doubt in this instance locked up.

Metropolitan Police -- what were they thinking? Were they thinking?

This was never going to be the poll tax riots. It was a small number of middle class women, socially-distanced and wearing masks, in the open air where just last week Sir Patrick Vallance said there was no evidence of Covid spikes.

And why were the women there? Police have gone in hard to break up, not a violent demonstration but a vigil for -- *checks notes* -- a woman who was (allegedly) murdered by a serving police officer.

That's odd, SQ I didn't think I'd posted anything political at all, it's you that needs to give your head a shake,  lock up women for having a vigil/demonstration whatever you want to call it, against women being murdered/ raped, you sound like a woman hater to me.

again the media are whipping up hate

you will notice theres no footage on sky news of the minority chanting hate towards police for example

i do believe women need more protection and sentences for abuse or violence are a disgrace , you can be out in a few months thats even if a case gets heard or followed through

but to tarnish a families rememberence for thier daughter with hate filled abuse was selfish and plain sad

last nite was about rememberance not agenda

the girls family will now forever look back at that vigil tarnished by violence and thats not right when it should have been a memory that comforts
