I just wondered if any of you guys had any first hand experience, that's all. All I hear is what is on the news and in the papers over here. Quite a few people voted for Trump and, for that reason, I am not certain it is all the one way traffic it appears to be on here. If that makes me a moron, Charlton, that is up to you. I haven't offered any defence on Trump. I don't know him, I don't like his policies and I have just collected on Biden winning but I have an open mind, which may be unusual to some on here, and I will be interested in what happens over the coming months where I will form my own opinion not what the newspapers, the media and some people on here tell me I should think. I know that is a risk and I know most of you are perpetual winners and never wrong but I have the time.

To be fair there was good news last night in Wisconsin and Michigan but general feeling is...

No one cares.

Actually it’s more a case of the US Constitution not requiring judges or legislatures to be in ownership of a spine.

-

Neither party will come out of this unscathed.

Biden has his own family problems and the Far Left to deal with...further lockdowns and getting the Trans Pacific partnership going again won’t ender him to the millions who will lose jobs as a result. But I guess that’s all nicely covered in the Green New Deal.

As for the Republicans...Trump supporters are not Republicans.  File them away in the same bin as the Lib Dems.

Biden is a complete puppet, the media is already throwing him under the bus by reporting on his son's corruption. The plan is to make him resign ASAP so Harris could take over. I'm going to bet big on Biden to leave before 2021.

Audit into Dominion machines in Antrim county show they rejected 68.5% of votes compared to the election standard of .0008% before storing them in the system then bulk awarding them to a certain candidate unsupervised , if that was above board Hunter's going to be made Treasury secretary.

People have lost money betting against American presidents' health in the past -- Reagan, GW Bush and Trump himself. Biden will have America's top doctors on speed-dial and if he is no longer up to shaking hands with hundreds of people (for example) then the White House will not schedule any events involving that.

Bear in mind this is from the same guy who claimed >100% voter rates because he'd got Michigan and Minnesota mixed up.

The Wisconsin supreme court just rejected a Trump suit 4 to 3 end of the road  in Wisconsin , yet in delivering their verdict they stated  " the votes were illegal . it was fraud but not enough fraud !" , they also stated it was too late ie challenging the rule book after the game had ended . And yet months back when the courts were challenged over the up coming election problem they were now in court fighting the judges  then stated " you can't challenge now because you haven't shown any harm yet wait till after the election then come back" .  you literally could not make it up.

Good morning Andrew. Hope you are well. Expecting a vaccination soon?

With regard to DT, have you personally had any dealings with him or are your views based on newspaper and television reports?

Evening Laurie

I'm as well as can be expected after being told to quarantine for 10 days after returning from Sweden yesterday. Considering there is a maximum fine of 10,000 euros for flaunting the rules here i will not even collect post from the box outside the front door. Wink

I don't want to take the vaccination until its been around the block a few times, i wish to know the side effects.

As for DT, i've never had dealings with him of course, nor do i wish to, i detest the guy and it's not based on any media reports whatsoever. I've seen him on TV enough over the years to form an opinion and i watch CNN who feel the same way as me. A despicable **** and i really can't see why he has such a following.

I'm not that interested in US politics anyway to be honest, but i was confident enough with JB winning and had been backing/laying on the market since June. I even posted the reason on my lay thread if you read back (a poster was curious why i felt that way). My biggest bet for a good while and the only time i thought maybe i had messed up was when DT took a lead early on the Wednesday morning, but the odds flip flopped a few hours later.

Hi Andrew. The reason I asked you was because I know from your movements your are the most likely to have had some personal experience.

I think I will have the vaccine if it is offered. I want to start getting back to France and going on holiday again though I am not sure if that will make any difference. We have already cancelled going to the States again next year and with a large number of my books in France it is pretty restricting. Much more than I expected. I have an old friend with dementia I have been promising to visit but have not yet been able to. I was hoping to take him to the 2000 Guineas but everything is on hold at present.

the main side effect of not taking it is an early grave

I have no idea yet about Brexit. I voted for it so I cannot complain. I think they will reach an agreement and I don't think it will make much difference. There are too many interested parties for it to get out of hand. We are definitely going to have to change current building plans, as will my daughter. It is just the inability to make firm plans that is the problem.

There is still a lot of stuff going on..... In Michigan with the Dominion machines, In Arizona the Republicans have a subpoena to audit the voting machines, in Austin Texas the software company Solarwinds has been raided by the FBI & US Marshalls (Solarwinds provide some of the software for Dominion)...The FBI director Barr has resigned and this is just today.
Two things to remember - the only date that really matters is January 20th. That is set in stone, anything can change before then.... The MSM are not just pathological biased liars in what they report but what they dont report/cover up.
Industrial scale fraud has been committed. How it plays out is still to be decided.

Any Brexit agreement will almost certainly (1.01) not include free movement of UK citizens in Europe that we have been used to since we joined what was then the common market. Do you have residency status in France ? I can't comment on that country, but in the case of Germany and Sweden i can (both similar rules).

The nice people that work for Angele Merkel have informed me that i can continue being a resident in Germany as i was here before December 31st 2020. I simply have to re-register before 30th June 2021 and i will automatically be given extended stay residency. I have no plans to apply for permanent residency here.

As for Sweden i've lived up there and had contracts with Saab Aerospace for so many years i could actually apply for a Svenska passport. I have no plans to do this and i'm not sure if they allow dual nationality, but my daughter (born in Linköping) before Sweden joined the EU was not allowed, so we refused it. She has 2 passports anyway (UK and Brasilian) the latter via her mother.

If you do not have residency in France, you will be restricted to 90 days in, 90 days out etc the same for all UK tourists in future.

I would check your situation out.

Hi Andrew. I have no plans to apply for residency in France and if they do enforce the 90 day rule that will not both me at all, either. I have my own private health insurance, I may have to look a bit more closely at that but I really don't see any real changes. The ex pat community in France is very large and, from what I know, makes very few demands they don't pay for, in full. My adventure, for want of a better word, started ten years ago when I was a lot younger but now with grandchildren I am more settled in the UK and could easily just remain living here and use the French house for my daughter and her partner to live in while they build and use it the other times as a holiday home. Age is a great leveller. You are too young to know that yet, Andrew. Wink

OK i wasn't sure if you were planning to retire to France permanently one day, so stays of up to 90 days (in any 180) will not be an issue. If your health insurance currently covers Europe you should be OK, but check it. If it's a EHIC card issued by UK, you can't use it in France after December 31st.

Health insurance is compulsory in Germany, i'm with AOK (also EHIC, but German issued) and it covers me for all EU countries except for UK after December 31st.

Actually a lot of things will change soon. I went to a meeting in Linköping city hall a couple of years ago when the UK Ambassador in Sweden was speaking/answering questions, it was an eye opener of what Brexit actually entails.

As for age, certainly not a spring chicken any more Laugh
