The RacingTv tracks playable despite multiple callers and drones at most tracks. If they were
more than 1 sec behind they would be just about unplayable. |
|
By:
any second now someone will pop on and say we are now at the level we were at when we did the trials late february / early March...
no chance. |
|
By:
Irish be still well behind
Why do you think this? |
|
By:
the only thing we can use atm is Sky RTV as a standard
If that hasnt changed then nothing else has LV about the same ahead 0.3s or so The test LV was around 0.8/9s ahead |

Carrot - Are you using Windows 10 operating system? I assume Chrome and Firefox are up to date versions? Have you tried on a mobile phone to see if it will work?
|

By:
Windows 10 , Everything was fine until the new format started last last week now all t get is the which race is coming up then it will not go live both on the exchange and sports book , and all betfair say is it's a third party problem , have a nice day.

it's a different feed they show on the lv now as well. Used to be rtv before and after race but theyre different now
You never get the still from a photo on the lv but do on rtv sky, answers on a post card |
|

BC - Irish always been behind UK tracks, some more than others.
dusty - Yes the trial was about 0.8 ahead of RacingTV. We are now 0.5 ahead so another 0.3 to go before we hit trial results. |
|

That's handy James , don't show 'em

I'm now thinking that the "advantage" you get from the RTV LV with all it's unstable nature, small screen, and still with it being unclear just what the difference is, is negated by the stable RTV pictures on the tele, especially in a big field race like we've seen at Naas today. I won't be cancelling my subscription.

And 30 seconds ago it's suddenly come to life , i wonder for how long

Same here Duffy. Would have to be a second difference for me to swop.

CC-The only thing I can suggest is you sharpen up your reflexes
Because Ive not seen it once be 0.5s and Ive done dozens of tests on the stopwatch |
|
By:
We are now 0.5 ahead so another 0.3 to go before
we hit trial results. ---------------------------------------------------- complete and utter poppyc0ck imv... |
|
By:
I didnt want to say hibby/dusty but agree
needs another .7 to be at trial speeds Maybe tomorrow UB40 |
|
By:
Im happy to believe anyone who gives some timings or evidence that are better than mine
and the others that have posted similar. |

Gone again
|

By:
my own eyes are my evidence Captain...
you simply don't see some of the prices on offer at certain stages of races if the picture speeds are good... sorry but i ain't buying your '0.3 more and we've cracked it' nonsense... plenty will tho so well done... |
|
By:
Lol `my own eyes' doesnt cut it these days - we have stopwatches and all sorts nowadays.
|
|
By:
ok Captain...
another 0.3 secs more and we've cracked it... just ask RTV to slow down ch426 by 0.3... it's that easy... |
|
By:
Aside from arguing about .1's here and there, I really don't get why RTV made public a trial, that they were never gonna achieve in prod
They must have streamed direct from the racetrack for the trial, a model which cannot scale to (potentially 4 figures of) end-users. At best, the feed from the track must hit hardware at RTV so that requests can be authorised and delivered to the internet Why would RTV annoy everyone by saying, " here's what you're not gonna get"? I still think 1s or so is playable and the Irish tracks are not delayed in the way they once were |
|
By:
we have stopwatches and all sorts nowadays.
---------------------------------------------- and if you were at the track or getting a dodgy 'live' feed i would possibly listen to what you say Captain... coz you ain't got a clue what speed ch426 is compared to 'live' right now... only a vey small group of people do... |
|
By:
BIGCAT,You keep saying they were never going to achieve the trial in prod as if the trial was done on some other planet.
The trial was done on 3 or 4 normal days at 2 different courses, kempton and Chelmsford. There is absolutely no reason why they can't achieve the same speeds again |

Also, for someone who has posted 20 times in 20 years, all on this thread, you seem to know an awful lot about how the lv works
Are you sure you aint a rtv employee or have ulterior motives? Big Cat Big Cat03 Jun 20 10:03Joined: 16 Oct 01 | Topic/replies: 22 | Blogger: Big Cat's blog The model of 'raw' pics streamed direct to the end-user from the track wouldn't work because bandwidth on the fibre to the track would be quickly consumed A single uncompressed instance of the service will be sent from the track to HQ or a CDN Most likely, LV originates from RTV, the graphics are proof of which. The bells & whistles could conceivably add delay, although the transcoding is also a factor Big Cat03 Jun 20 10:45Joined: 16 Oct 01 | Topic/replies: 22 | Blogger: Big Cat's blog Jun 3, 2020 -- 10:16AM, pablo-fanque wrote: big cat , how do you know some much about streaming of pics ? |

probably just coincidence JD that in the last 20 years there have been hundreds or thousands of threads about picture speeds yet BC appears once the so called fastest stream is about to appear .
|
|
By:
aye pablo must be, and is pro the new speeds, thinks rtv have done a great job in getting them this "fast", knows more than the whole blv team put together
as to how they work and cant see how they can repeat something the were able to do 3 months ago! |
|
By:
I don't work for RTV. Back to anonymity, as I evidently ain't really one for forums :(

Social media and forums are for people to let off steam and vent nonsense with no evidence - you/we are better off out of it.

Even if the theory were true it begs the question why have they been stringing ppl along saying they expect (and delivered in tests) quick pics if they didnt expect to deliver?
They have since continued the theme to Bootman, implying they are 'working on it'. About 25% of matched money in the markets are made during IR, it's not insignificant as the attitudes of broadcasters seem to make it out to be. |
|
By:
rtv need to give these quicker pics to its paying customers 1 secs behind live is very playable if you can not make it pay it out
|
|
By:
Biggy&booty are most likely in it together. Part of the team scrambling the streams and having a great laugh at everyone praising booty for pretending he's pushing for change..
|
|
By:
bootman, don't know why you bother with people on here spouting bs like this
|
|
By:
Was daggy not 1 of the very few who kept saying everything was rosey on their end?? Methinks we've found another conspiring member..
|
|
By:
Not the bootmans fault, he's best chance of getting anything done and his efforts much appreciated.
Same as anyone who attended the lv meetings, theyre only going bu what theyve been told |
