Just read this in the London Evening Standard

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said he is "really worried" about the impact that easing lockdown restrictions will have on public transport in the capital.

The Prime Minister is due to set out a new strategy on Sunday with more details on how restrictions will be eased following the next three-week review of arrangements on Thursday.

However, plans to help Brits return to work have already begun to emerge, with reduced hot-desking and the closure of office lifts among the measures being put forward.

Mr Khan expressed concerns about the impact that relaxing the measures would have specifically on public transport.

“As it is, we are providing the maximum public transport we can with the staffing levels we have,” he said.

“At the moment we are able to have a safe number of passengers on and social distance is being followed.

“That means we are taking roughly speaking a sixth – that’s 15 per cent – of the passengers we normally would.

“Any increase whatsoever of people out and about would lead to us not being able to have passengers safely keeping their social distance.”
