Hello are you factoring in what affect depression would have on the system.
Rightly or wrongly that people will die from it with your plan? (yes I know we are only sat at home allowed all of our luxuries) |

Do you think they sat in the trenches wondering when death would come or wondering if horse racing would be back by May 1st like some of the DC's on here ? |

swad there is no easy soloution and nobody will be free from the negative effects of the sacrifices
i just think the other option will cause depression that lasts a lifetime for UK , with this soloution i know things will eventually get better and i can look back knowing i did right things for the right reasons |

21 dead NHS tho you prob don't believe that either 1,500,000 people work in the nhs. Many are being exposed to this deadly virus far more intensely than most in this country. What is 21 as part of 1.5 million as a %? It is 0.000014% And these people are at most risk according to popular opinion! This is worth killing an economy over? Get a grip |
|
By:
very silly stats tbh and also wrong to trivialise any NHS deaths tbh
but go back to your calculator and figure out the percentage of deaths in relation to those who deal directly with covid , not all do |

obviously you can bet from your armchair if sport returns but unmtill there,s a vaccine that's proven to work cant see people queuing up to go to ,mass gatherings, football, racing, pubs, leisure shoppinbg, holidays eating out etc and even those that do will be wearing masks, gloves etc and be the self styled/appointed corona police to anyone who isn't doing the same,
we,ll get work, school, visiting family up and running again but feel the rest will be a slow return |

Purposefully tried not to follow the news.
You'll have to explain to me something to me. So why would we be in full lockdown with any purpose for longer than a month? Theoretically the day before lockdown the virus was still spreading? - Think thats a fact. Lockdown is announced and is it also a fact you can carry the virus for 14 days MAX before showing any effect of having it? So theoretically if it takes you 14 days to feel symptoms MAX? Is it also a fact theoretically after 15 days if you haven't shown symptoms you either haven't got it or the effects were that mild you didnt notice? .... Say you become ill after 14 days...what is the max period you can take to perish or beat the virus? IE is it possible to have the virus for 17 odd days and still be unwell? So theoretically if after 17 days thats 1 month...making it pointless to use a lockdown for more than a 30 day period? |

very silly stats tbh and also wrong to trivialise any NHS deaths you call them silly stats and you accuse me of trivialising death? the stats are an indicator of what is going on you on the other hand see someone gasping for air on the 'telly' and that is all that's needed to go into full panic mode. carry on. I can't educate pork |

My presumption is that the lockdown is to reduce (not eliminate) transmission and the consequential hospital take up. When the numbers requiring hospitalisation reduce then the argument for the easing of lockdown becomes more clear. However, there is every chance that the cycle will recommence unless we've learnt how to live safely in this new world.

I agree that the same amount of people are going to die whichever way they did it, but, with the herd immunity approach, there would be another bunch of people that would die from the virus that would have survived if the staff hadn't been over-run.
At the moment it is plateauing simply because the virus is running out of victims due to the lock down, once the lock down is released it will have a new stream of people to infect, but this is unavoidable, all we can do is enable the stream of infected be funneled through the hospitals at a manageable rate and if and when they die let it be down to the fact that everything was able to be done to save them and not because the staff were completely knocked over by it. |

out future over next few months, wks till vaccine will be about keeping infections under NHS capacity

Somebody reported as a Death today = Died 3 or 4 days ago They could/would have been in hospital for a week/10 days/a fortnight - - previous to hospital admission, more than likely, had a minimum, of a rough week to 10 days at home (as in the Prime Minister, classic case) - - been infected from a low of 5 days up to around 14 days BEFORE that period - - so people reported as a DEATH TODAY - would have actually BEEN INFECTED around a minimum 30 to 40 days ago. Less than that time-span will be the Exception, rather than the Rule. The Lockdown has only been in place for 20 days, tomorrow. |
