I am happy to be corrected tim and magic-days.  Just from my (limited) experience I have been happy to pay sky for the convenience, especially when you can really haggle them down.

Sounds like these gadgets have improved, may need to look at one for the caravan.

I still have Sky Sports as well as the app. If you take away every sporting event you can still watch new films, new tv series, live tv, Netflix, every bookmakers channel (still sport!) catch up tv, loads of porn channels. The list is endless, and there’s probably loads more on there than I’ve not even looked at. For a small yearly fee, or even add them yourself at no cost, it’s very handy to have.

Has anybody got any box set recommendations? Preferably one that’ll last at least six weeks! Grin

Please do, equine, you won`t be disappointed.
I understand such gadgets used to suffer from all the types of problems people are scared of, but things have changed, at least for MAGs. I paid a one-off £45 for the box itself, and pay £15 a month; I know I might be able to get it cheaper if I looked around, but I`m far too happy with what I`ve got to be bothered. So much so that I bought five family members a box and a year`s subscription each for Christmas a year ago, telling them that if they weren`t happy with it to throw it in the bin and go back to Sky; none did, all five boxes were renewed

The wire once you understand it is a superb series and up there with Breaking Bad imo.

Latest/best ones I have watched on Netflix are Narcos & Narcos Mexico, El Chapo, Better call Saul, Ozark (top notch), Mindhunter, When they see us (watch the Oprah show episode after), The stranger, The end of the f***ing world.

I must ring racing TV and Sky today, I get the F1 package and all they have been showing for months are old Martin Brundle and Damon Hill features. I Think I pay £80 a month to sky so I will negotiate that.

Sky have confirmed that paying customers can pause their Sky Sports subscriptions during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The channels will have reduced sports coverage over the coming months with almost all sporting events currently cancelled or postponed, including the Premier League and Football League.

Scottish lady I just spoke to said the same and ‘paused’ my sky sports to take effect from 30 days time. She did say though that talk customers now get free calls anytime regardless of your talk package (mind is only evenings and weekends).

Tried phoning SKY and got a recorded message saying there is over an hours wait but you can manage your account online, so logged in and tried to cancel sky sports only to get a message saying it can't be done online I have to ring them. Talk about going around in circles...

They must think you won't bother so they can continue taking your money.

Just send them an email marked "URGENT" and set-out why it was sent eg recorded phone message/long waiting time, and a timetable for them to get back to you. This is to ensure there is no negative comeback regards cancellation.

It's their fault if they do not increase staffing level in this department accordingly.

Lots of people are saying that when they get through they are told that pausing is not an option.they have to cancel then subscribe again when they want it back, since many are on some sort of deal now it’s not worth it cos they ll have to pay the full price to get back on a couple of months down the line.if that’s the case then very iffy business practice.
