yep but we've been waiting since january, betfair won't pay for the faster pics so why can't they overhaul them and make it a professional service, charge those that want to pay, put up enough servers to cater, get it the fastest it can be, we need it across the board

the argument has always been that everyone else(bookmakers) are happy with the service providers speed, well of course they are

i cant even see a select few still using it james as the volume would of gone and cost having it to the select few would surely be too much... fair enough maybe 3 years when a hand full had and made a killing but that wont be the case this time

Think racingluck meant when they speed up to the proper rtv speeds greenie

When the gap is nearer the .6 than the second. Will only be select few who continue to use them then

A couple of thoughts:-

I was part of last years 3 month trial, I thought the £500 allowance given was in fact a little too generous, but it certainly encouraged me to use the exchange more, in particular pre race. As others have suggested no point using the exchange to have a bet pre race other than to fire up the live video. I gave a fair bit of feedback to them at the end of the trial but this was what they concluded.

"The Premium Charge Allowance trial fell quite far short of our expectations in terms of incremental activity. We discounted a significant chunk of PC from a decent sample of customers.

Unfortunately, we observed only minor alterations to behaviour compared to a randomised control group. Volume grew marginally versus the control group, but this was “take” volume instead of “make” volume. In other words, the trial had no discernible effect on liquidity. There was no effect on commission
."

With regard to PC I too prefer the fixed rate charge, I didn't like it mentally when I had a big one off fee taken on a Wednesday.

Having spoken to them on a couple of occasions I am a little more optimistic about the future. They are putting a lot more money into this advertising campaign and they are fully committed to the exchange. I do however, think the £250k lifetime PC limit is a major issue, that is far too small if you have been here 17 years plus, no reason why they can't tailor a PC to suit everyone individually on say a weekly/monthly/yearly basis. I believe 40% is too much per week, if they gave me a basic of 20% PC until i'd reached a certain amount each year then I would be recommending it to everyone and sundry and provide much more liquidity. As someone else says we could be its biggest promoters but as they piss us off every week with PC we are not. Cut us a bit of slack with PC and I would be happy to be happy to be part of a "buddy" system for new customers.

With regard to a level playing field the numbers from the HBF survey suggest 64% of people would at least give it a try and that would give it a massive boost, no reason now why the whole of the racing industry should be against that now.

i couldnt tell you i just know via ruk track link curragh was about .6 behind

Tbh rl, I'm surprised they still use them now away from Ireland but they do
but fair play to them, if they want to do that or travel to play at course then each to their own.
It has always been that way some players being ahead but the time delay gap has greatly reduced ofc
on sky tracks anyway

you're talking about rare isolated occasions rl..

not sure track players would carry on from home on a level playing field, maybe they would walk too
By:
bugs bunny
When: 09 Sep 19 16:42
james plenty of players use them on the sstv uk tracks with only maybe a 0.5 advantage and a worse pic than blv

Im not surprised they didnt see a material change given it was just a 3 month trial. PC payers especially 40%ers have had their balls squeesed to such an extent all they must have thought was I can reduce risk and pocket that 500 of profits during the period instead of being a lab rat that to their mind hopefull took on even more risk in contrast to their none.

The want real results then take the time limit off it to see how people change, as I said earlier people have honed their ability in an environment that is always against them so why would they radically change just for their review?
By:
greenteethnarrabacktroutmoy
When: 09 Sep 19 16:44
there are plenty track players who are now struggling financially now..very few have walked..only if absolutely no other option..they stick it out until the quicksand reaches above the heads..

yes iam now greenie of course but when all tracks switch over i think it will be sent as normal

so willie would you agree sstv uk tracks 0.5 behind ft on blv  and rtv tracks in uk 0.8 behind ft ?
By:
RacingLuck
When: 09 Sep 19 17:02
greenie im only saying what my tests proved which was lv .6 behind facetime at the curragh and cant see many staying when that happens full time and then its just a domino effect as price increases

if you aint got great discipline or staking plan you wont last..yes you can still win, problem is.most track players go to the track for 1 thing, time advantage, but as soon as the track race finishes they play 15yds behind other track players at other tracks..comical.
