Pandoro Star finished in front of 2 of the market leaders (Arriba de toda and Sylviacliffs) on first try on fibresand. PS was also hampered when in a decent early position and might have finished closer to the first 3 in that race. Drop to 7 furlongs shouldnt be a problem. Now 4 pounds better off with that pair as well.
Could have been slightly better drawn today but stall 3 isn't that bad-and the other 2 have drawn stalls 1 and 2.
PS is 14/1 and the other 2 are around the 7/2 mark. Imo the danger looks to be Kodi Star
I think you might be on to something in that the latest form of Arriba de Toda and Sylviacliffs might have been overrated by the market.
But my conclusion is a bit different. I am not sure the form in the race you refer to on 29th December is all that strong either.
I prefer the winner of a different race that day - Champagne Mondays. They clearly think it will stay 7f, and with Kodi Dream unproven on fibresand, I think Champagne Mondays looks the most solid in what looks a fairly poor race. At 7/1 I think he is worth a small bet.
Good luck with your selections.

sewter - the market leaders left that race behind in their subsequent run, whereas Pandoro Star went on to confirm its previous useless form in its next race. So, why back it - just because one of its terrible performances coincided with poor performances for two of the others in this race?
Dolly Dupree can't seem to get into a challenging position no matter what the distance.
Champagne Mondays - on all known evidence would need a taxi to get this trip.
Kodi Dream - decent performance last time and a slight class drop this time - although will it handle the surface? Its optimal racing style doesn't match the track.
Arriba De Toda - sub-optimal running style for this course, but possibility this is improving with racing.
Sylvia Cliffs - as Arriba but how do you split them?
Russian Rum FTO in a handicap, FTO on the surface, FTO after being gelded and FTO for a new trainer - no form but his sire does well on the AW and soft ground - both of which this horse hasn't had yet.
Miss Wow FTO in a handicap, FTO on the surface and FTO for a new trainer - absolutely shocking form but his sire has a really good record on slow standard going (although from a very small sample).
If someone held a knife to my throat I'd take a foolish punt on Russian Rum as sometimes it's better the devil you don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if it came last. But I can't see why anyone would see anything attractive to bet on in this race.
Good luck!
