i am a great believer of greening up if possible why sit with a red if you can guarantee a profit ,so what your saying is,if you dont get the chance to green up you do your stake, but if you go green, you get out and win half a cheeseburger, well good luck with that one.

so basically you were gambling, faugheen was still cruising when it fell maybe 2.5L down. At no stage did it looked beat. gambling well i backed it back at a bigger price so who ever laid it after me was gambling bigger then lol , i laid it when it was the wrong price , it was always 2nd best and i believe there can only be 1 winner unless its a dead heat , im not laying what cant win im laying horses at the wrong odds that i can back back if needed due to weak markets and it works for me |

Goodgrief theres some cynicism on here
As soon as anybody makes a move its a gamble of sorts, backing a judgement If somebody hedges its no different to an offset on gruss There are people who make good money in the wings using pretty ropey tools |

By:
what odds did you lay faugheen 4 out?
an easy question..nothing to hide apart from a gambling accusation. |
|
By:
isn't a profit a profit?
who cares how it's done? |
|
By:
it was actually 3 out my mistake i have prob done 80 races since then, like i said my odds are my business if you need to change your play style to win at home you will need to pick someone elses brains , i back and lay and dont need live pics to succeed
|
|
By:
bugs..you layed faugheen 3 out you were in effect gambling,fk all to do with race reading. it was closer 2 out cruising that it was 3 out.
|
|
By:
but for all the home players the blv speed up is great news
|
|
By:
wullie
ffs of course its gambling but if it goes bigger then its surely a good gamble , even at your price of 1.01 you maybe gambling as they do get beat but if the odds you back or lay are in your favour you will win long term |

nice bet racingluck, but be careful wullie will want your 7 day p and l hes looking for new angles now the delay is fading , its like the rise of the planet of the apes the home players are back
|
|
By:
bugs im embarrassed to explain, all the way round apples and faugheen were clear and both cruising,4 out apples was 4L clear...2 out maybe 2.5L clear and still both travelling well..what exactly did you race read 3-4 out to make you want to lay faugheen?
answer is nothing, you laid one and in effect bet apples..no race reading applicable. |
|
By:
bugs bunny - you may or may not be the best or worst race reader on the planet.
But, FACT: If you went live to the track on occasions your P&L would be much higher. Are you just a bad, lazy business man? doing this job for fun or not bothered about maximising profit? The best people at in running are those that make the most money, my bet would be all the top ones go live to track. If there is a .6sec + delay the live players will continue to get the most money. The only difference would be if the home pics became same speed as home. I would still bet the prev top earners on track would win the most because they will be used to playing to much higher stakes and be able to play so many more races. But, some of the best home players will make significantly more cash. |

captain carnage if i went to the track what would my exes be for the week , seat cost ,fuel ,wear and tear on a car , overnight stays , etc etc would i earn more after taking all these into account, also taking into account travelling time to and from the track which would be classed as hours worked what would my wage be per hour ?
then compare this to my wage per hour now where i only really need racing tv and i start 5 mins before the 1st race and 5 mins after the last race , most track players are struggling plenty have packed up because the exes are killing them |
|
By:
andyl lets see your 7 day p and l your obviously a track player lets see what the top track players are making before exes , im sure you cant wait to post it

Whichever way this gets dressed up, these are the realities.
The advantage box players had (irrespective of their stakes, methods, tactics or competence) is now about 0.3s worse at uk sis tracks than it was last week. The fees are unlikely to lower to compensate. The mass market has moved closer, this can only be a negative. We can speculate, that more people try their luck and provide greater liquidity, but that’s an assumption, nobody knows this. The price box players get from here on will be worse than they had before, while no fees off course players will get better prices than they had. |
|
By:
meanwhile i'll get evens while at homers get 1/5.
im sticking. |
|
By:
you seem to be having trouble with the 7 day p and l dont worry about it im sure your making 1000s a week andyl
![]() |
|
By:
you get a bigger price willie agreed but you still have to pick the right horse to back or lay and at what cost work out the exes then take off the pc charge whats left for working double hours a home player does with all the travelling involved.
|
|
By:
I don't play ir anymore, exes killed me,but I am a degenerate compulsive gambler to boot. You did win £300 on that race so wd,but you did nothing clever, you keep laying 3/1 ish in a 2 horse race while the horse in 2nd has every chance and you will lay winners.
|
|
By:
i dont worry about the pc or the exes tbh..ive got more than i can spend..i still enjoy it and have fk all else to do.

If you cant increase your profit because the x's are so big to get to track then you are either 1) a very average race reader who is better nicking small at home or 2) you are a good racecreader but got no a-hole to have enough on at the track. Its a bit like I bake the tastiest cakes on the planet. I only sell them from my house, they are popular and I make an ok living. I could open a shop an hour away that would massively increase my profits but I cant be bothered with all the admin, hiring staff, getting up earlier, organising the travel, investing in rent and fix/fittings for shop, etc etc |
