While we are on the topic of old films on Channel 328..am I the only who is very amused (annoyed) that the channel outs out a PG notice and / or a warning about bad language / attitudes for...wait for it....Worzel Gummidge and Catwezle!!

Have we gone mad as a nation?

We warn about those two harmless programmes while allowing kids to play horror computer games where slaughter and mayhem is the theme!!

I despair.

A decent looking film on the channel tonight at 10.10pm.

"Hot Money"(2001)

Hot Money is a British television crime drama film, written by Neil McKay and directed by Terry Winsor, first broadcast on ITV on 12 December 2001. Inspired by the Loughton incinerator thefts, the film stars Caroline Quentin as Bridget Watmore, a cleaner at the Bank of England who hatches a plot "for impoverished workers to pinch cash" before it is incinerated. The film was commissioned by ITV in January 2001, as one of two new projects to star Quentin, with the other, Blood Strangers, following in 2002. Nick Elliott, then controller of drama at ITV, described Quentin as being "...very good at playing very ordinary women."[3] Filming began in February 2001.

The film received a 44% audience share between 9pm and 11pm, where it was screened against a Panorama investigative special programme on BBC One. Consolidated figures revealed the film drew 9.62 million viewers on its debut broadcast. Reception by newspaper critics ranged from "inadequate script" (Daily Telegraph) to "thrilling comedy caper" (Mirror). In 2008, the film was remade in the United States under the title Mad Money, starring Diane Keaton as Bridget, Katie Holmes as Jackie, Queen Latifah as Nina, and Ted Danson as Don. Lindsay Lohan was initially cast to play Jackie, but was replaced due to a lack of completion bond.

The 60s musical film "What a Crazy World" is on the channel tonight at 10pm.  Stars Joe Brown, Marty Wilde, Harry H Corbett and Susan Maughan.

Unemployed working class lad Alf Hitchens, has an on-off relationship with his girlfriend Marilyn, whilst trying to sell a song he has written. Michael Ripper appears in several cameo roles bemoaning the "bleeding kids" he encounters.

its been mentioned on here few times im sure, but if you havent seen it Grand National night on today at 2.00 pm ,  Damn good film

Horse trainer Gerald Coates believes he has accidentally killed his spiteful and philandering socialite wife Babs on Grand National night following a heated marital row. He panics and foolishly disposes of his drunken wife’s body in her lover’s car before catching a late train home. Scotland Yard’s resolute Inspector Ayling leads the police enquiry and pursues a game of cat-and-mouse in trying to convict Coates on a charge of murder. Friends and his Butler attempt to help cover up the crime but the wily detective teases out Coates with mischievous ingenuity. About to be arrested, Coates receives help from an unexpected source…..

AND at 10.05 pm  a fav of mine, Halfway House

A group of travellers, each with a personal problem that they want to hide, arrives at a mysterious Welsh country inn. There is a certain strangeness in the air as they are greeted by the innkeeper and his daughter (Mervyn Johns and his real life daughter Glynis Johns). Why are all the newspapers a year old ? And why doesn't Gwyneth seem to cast a shadow ?—Steve Crook

Benny Hill
By:

When: 16 Jun 24 13:26
yes Benny hill, she also dated George Best.    just read this on wiki on  Benny Hill.

Hill was noted for his frugality. He never owned his own home in London and preferred to rent a flat rather than buy one.[29][better source needed] He rented a double-room apartment on London's Queen's Gate for 26 years until around 1986, when he moved to Fairwater House in Teddington. While looking for somewhere to live, he briefly stayed at 22 Westrow Gardens in Southampton.[30]

Despite being a millionaire, he continued with the frugal habits he picked up from his parents, such as buying cheap food at supermarkets, walking for miles rather than paying for a taxi unless someone picked up the tab for a limousine, and regularly patching and mending the same clothes. He also never owned a car, despite having a valid driving licence.[29][better source needed]

Hill never married and had no children. He had proposed to two women, but neither accepted. Shortly after his death in 1992, actress Annette Andre said that she turned down his proposal of marriage in the early 1960s.[31] Rumours circulated that he was gay, but he always denied them.[32]

Hill was a Francophile and enjoyed visits to France, including to Marseille, where, until the 1980s, he could go to outdoor cafes anonymously, travelling on public transport and socialising with local women.[32] He spoke French fluently, and also knew basic German, Spanish, Dutch and Italian.[32] Travel was the only luxury he permitted himself; even then, he would stay in modest accommodation.

Hill's health declined in the mid-to-late 1980s. After Hill had a mild heart attack 24 February 1992, doctors recommended a heart bypass; he refused. A week later, he was found to have kidney failure, but he refused to undergo kidney dialysis. Hill died at his flat in Teddington on the morning of 20 April 1992 at age 68,[4] but his body was not found until two days later, following several days of unanswered telephone calls.[33] He died while watching television in his armchair. The cause of death was recorded as coronary thrombosis.[34] Hill was buried at Hollybrook Cemetery, near his birthplace in Southampton, 28 April 1992.[35]

Hill's estate was probated at £7,548,192, equivalent to £19,700,000 in 2023.[36] His will, written thirty years earlier, left most of his estate to his parents, who had predeceased him; ultimately, Hill's estate was divided among his seven nieces and nephews.[37]

During the night of 4 October 1992, following speculation that Hill had been buried with a large amount of gold and jewellery, grave robbers excavated and broke open Hill's coffin. The coffin was reburied with a thick concrete slab over it.[38]

Went the day well on at 5.35. A quirky war film made during the height of the war and quite a lot of violence for the time, but thoroughly enjoyable film and a nice bit of propaganda to help unify the nation.
Well worth a watch if by any chance you haven't seen it, but still a good film to watch again.
