Amington Girl is a horse of David Evans that ran twice at Wolverhampton at the split meeting.

he done it with others, so did many other small trainers in the early to mid 90s when it used to be 1.30 - 3.30 the afternoon meeting and 6.00 - 8.30 the evening meeting.

Did nt Chaplins Club run twice in a day once when he was after the record wins in a season?

Thats the nearest i can recall and not sure even thats correct....that must be 25 plus years ago

dom, you mentioned that in some race the vet examined the horse as he had heard that it had been galloped in the morning. if there is no rule against that, then why would the vet have examined the horse?

Keep following your instincts Andrew, you are the best poster on here by a mile. Domino, am sure if the majority of us were coping with a serious family illness, we wouldn't be spending hours on here making inflammatory comments on numerous posts. You quickly abandoned your own ill-advised tipping thread only to highjack multiple threads including this one. Give it a rest.

dom i doubt very much that many trainers did, you have mentioned on of what you said is many, will be the first on to say i was wrong but if there was more than 2 or 3 i would be astounded

If any person reports a possible welfare issue regarding a horse running, the on course vet has to check it over and pass it fit to race, should they not and something happen to it, the anti's would have a field day.

I remember someone buying a horse cheap off Paul Howling and it was due to run a month later, he actually sold the horse cheap as he thought it had a tendon injury. He rang the BHA telling them his concerns, they checked the horse and it was sound, the horse nearly won as well, Paul was mega annoyed as he sold the horse for peanuts on the advice of his vet who told him it had a tendon injury.

However Howling clearly saw nothing wrong with the fact he was trying to sell a horse he believed had a tendon injury !

I never said it was Charlton, but you are naive to not think it goes on sadly.

back to the topic of this thread. is paul really just a money tree wannabe? laying his backs and vice versa. 1 in 19 is not feasible even for the worst punters. random selection will do a lot better (odds adjusted). to get 1 in 19 is like getting 1 in 19 on a multiple choice IQ test. you actually have to know the answers to get that many wrong...

dom, aren't your 20:37 & 21:02 posts a contradiction, ref: horse welfare?

A word of warning for anyone of slightly unbalanced sanity that reads Pauls post and backs it with hard earned.

I'm not having a pop at Paul personally, but his overall success record is quite poor, although i do remember he tipped up a 10/1 winner a few years back. If the tip wins, he hangs around for the plaudits, if not, he disappears for a while without making a comment.

A long while ago in the days of ticktack Grey Desire (5/4f) bolted on the way down and ran the entire 6f at Haydock. He was not withdrawn instead ran, and finished 2nd to the chagrin of fav backers.

I do not think this will be allowed should it happen now.

@Hlk23

In low grade handicappers, at least half the field wont be trying, 2/3 will be trying but aren't very good and the one or two that are, will normally fight out the finish. The blind punter has no chance.

only noticed this now
