Very disappointing.
Every chance, just not good enough. Thought 2f out, he was just going to sweep by but didn't. Came out on top of the Epsom horses by a long way, but very disappointing he couldn't get by them two. **** day for me. |

Very nearly a first classic for Frankel but a very good run by Rostropovich.

Winner beaten by Hunting Horn earlier in the season, the horse that leads SW and can't get near him. That must have improved boatloads.

That was great. Where did you tip Latrobe ELG? Well played.

3 year olds a load of garbage this year.

Enable will destroy this lot if she turns up somewhere fit.

& if she's trained on

If that can win an Irish Derby the 3 year olds are terrible....Dee Ex Bee St Leger fav? Should be running over hurdles.....Saxon Warrior clearly not a world beater...and the rest of them garbage.

3yos will be getting the wfa also

These O'Briens are a puzzle...

trained on?

Thanks...to be fair it was nice not having to worry when Saxon loomed up
|
|

Perfectly positioned, when a lot of the rags were held-up (expecting a furious gallop?). Wonder if Listen Jr is privy to Dad's tactics.

Drift has to be a worry from yesterday, stewarty! Cost me a few bob stewarts. Very disappointed but simply not good enough. The last time I looked the Epsom Derby winner was 7s for the King George... |
|
By:
Aiden looks as happy as Punch that Saxon got beat
|
|
By:
That winner cant be rated more than 115. Irish derby will be a grp2 before too long Jack Hobbs, Hazard, Capri....
|
|
By:
Doesn't truly stay 12fs at the top level which was always the worry.

I've not had this **** a day ever ! I could have had a horse in training for 4 months for what I've lost today.

By:
so that’s another European G1 mile and half failure for Deep Impact.
They just can’t do 12f here. |
|
By:
Think it stayed ok,alright maybe not truly but while the 2 in front kicked just a fraction earlier SW cut the deficit from 2.5Ls 3f out to .5 at line, disappointing anyway from SW,he was very sweaty and maybe the late drift suggested he played up before the start?

FWIW
I wouldn't blame the trip, just a bridle monkey. Looked for all the tea in China when he loomed up he would go clear 2f out, but was very one paced off the bridle. Trip not an excuse, just not good enough. |
|
By:
SW sweating up badly pre race could not have helped him.
|
|
By:
I would be amazed if everything wasn't sweating. It's 31 degrees in Dublin today.
