Considering it's probably a desirable job how come so many average types get these media positions? RUK's team yesterday had a distinct second division feel to me. But the football is the same with the likes of Lawrenson etc,,,

Francesca has just announced some non runners in today's EBOR whilst Luke is encouraging us to back BROTHER BEAR in the finale at 22 when it's 36 on here.

"Julian Wilson and Sir Peter will be turning in their graves."
I enjoyed the coverage yesterday, but ITV should have got James Sherwood for the fashion coverage.

Great to hear that Fitzgerald is not part of it, lets hope he's gone for good, it persuaded me to watch today. Harvey is totally unnecessary, and more good news is that the ridiculous idea from last year of employing Hayley Turner seems to have been ditched.

Olly is a very good post race interviewer; he is also very courteous, but professional eg not afraid to ask the relevant and awkward questions immediately post the defeat of a very prestigious race ie Cracksman in the PoW.

I agree with TELL DELL, the fashion coverage needs a bit of acidity, and Sherwood was absolutely the man for that. AND he also did the men (so to speak!!!) criticising appalling plush and beaver top hats and even decent top hats "like mine" worn badly.

Don't think Julian Wilson was quite as good as he thought he was and he got very spiteful late on. Thought Rishi was particularly daft when asking if Atzeni had seen the barging match taking place behind him. Couldn't he see that Baghdad had his wing mirrors removed (shown as WMO) in your race cards.

I imagine all the presenters despise Chamberlain;he thinks he's funny when he makes fun of Luke Harvey's appearance...to the viewers he 's just a patronising, rude git.

Why is every winner, not just Ascot but every race they cover, come with some kind of amazing back story? There always seems to be some sentimental reason why whoever won was a great result.

It beggars belief the knowledge of horse racing and betting of Kevin Blake are not being utilised fully. He ought to have been part of the light weight (main) presenters to bolster depth and credibility of ITV Racing, I believe; wasted talent paired with Emmet on "Communication".

Alas .birkdale, your comment on Hayley Turner has turned out not to be true. The good news about Mick Fitz continues however
I thought it was too good to last. When I heard she was on I refused to watch so no idea what she contributed to the programme. I am delighted Fitzgerald continues to be ignored, but disappointed that he has turned up on ATR tonight "analysing" flat racing from Limerick.

You've got to accentuate the positive Eliminate the negative Latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with Mister In-Between You've got to spread joy up to the maximum Bring gloom down to the minimum Have faith or pandemonium Liable to walk upon the scene To illustrate his last remark Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark What did they do Just when everything looked so dark Man, they said we better, accentuate the positive Eliminate the negative Latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with Mister In-Between No, do not mess with Mister In-Between Do you hear me? The team should sing this one on the bandstand at the end of the coverage tomorrow and dedicate it to some of those on this thread and forum. Delilah was my favourite this week, but this would be good

Sherwood would be perfect for the ITV team doing the fashion comments at big meetings. This Mark Heyes gets really annoying with his repetitive comments: "Looking fabulous" ..... "You look stunning" .... "I'm loving your outfit, fabulous hat" .... "You look amazing" .... "You are looking fantastic"
To add some variety to the fashion coverage James Sherwood would certainly spice things up with his acid comments, and really this pompous toff was only saying what a lot of people might be thinking anyway. Unlike Mark Heyes who says everybody looks fabulous... everybody looks stunning....

I dont mind the ITV coverage, a week without Fitzy has been a massive bonus. Think Ed is a fairly good host, seems to know his job.
Fashion is for fans of the spectacle rather than the racing and sadly has to be covered. I dont like the social bit i understand why it is the future.

Has anyone ever said to Ed he suffers from verbal diarrhoea regularly? The guy never stops yapping! Maybe he's not come across the adage "less is more".

Interesting to see how many superlatives he can fit in when describing the week. Some will have enjoyed it of course, many like myself will be glad its done for another year.

Olly as main presenter any day. Without sounding disrespectful to Ed I believe he's surplus to requirement for this sport; knows next to nothing, and feels air time with self congratulatory comments/remarks for his employers and fellow lightweight presenters some of whom would be better utilised elsewhere,...not terrestrial tv.
Glad this year's Royal Ascot is over. And congratulations to Accidental Agent and his trainer Eve Johnson Houghton, and Sir Michael Stoute for surpassing H Cecil as the winning most trainer at Royal Ascot.

Fully deserve to lose Ascot,if that is what happens...demote racing today to third place behind light entertainment repeats and cycling...and to rub insult into injury they offer Fitzfeckingerald as a pundit on a mainly flat racing day
