IN THE INTERESTS OF BALANCE WASNOT IS AN ARB DIRECTOR!
By:
WASNOT, DO YOU THINK THE BRBA NEGOTIATORS HAVE ACTED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF ALL PONTY BOOKMAKERS ?????????
By:
THOUGHT SO!
By:
I know nothing of what has happened at Ponty so don't feel able to comment factmachine.
By:
norman gundil , the pontefract racecourse manager has been in that position for some 45 years . he is also a solicitor.
do you really believe that the BRBA would be able to sway him one way or another on how his vision of the course improvents should progress. for additional balance BRBA director Alan Bennett holds two pitches in the tattersalls ring too |
By:
i rang the brba office on friday morning to speak to ch as i have been led to understand he has been aware of the situation for around 2 years ,he was unavailable but i was told he would ring me back this has not happened.many have bought and sold in that period.
now i am unsure what the new set up will be like but do accept changes were needed as on most days its crap however all bookmakers should have been made aware of the situation right away never mind all this about architects the loyalty should have been with fellow bookmakers. on another subject have the associations asked the clown who runs haydock why on family day this saturday is the family enclosure shut as bookmakers were promised after the easter saturday farce that that by 26th may everything would be back to normal. |
By:
FOXY I THINK YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ANSWER TO THE HAYDOCK QUESTION, THIS MATTER WAS BROUGHT UP AT THE BOOKMAKER LIAISON COMMITTEE,WHICH IS MORE THAN ANY ASSOCIATION HAS DONE.I DONT THINK FOR ONE MINUTE WE WOULD HAVE THE CURRENT PONTY SITUATION IF BOOKMAKER LIAISON COMMITTEES WERE INVOLVED INSTEAD OF THE SELF INTEREST OF THE ASSOCIATIONS, AS YOU HAVE SEEN WITH WASNOTS REPLY THEY WONT ANSWER A DIRECT QUESTION AND ARE NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
By:
good morning factmachine
i actually dont know the answer to the haydock question there is a couple of steps that need fixing which should not take this long to sort out, bookmakers were promised the ring would be open how can a mosque be built quicker than a few steps been mended ? |
By:
PS THE SOONER ALL THE FENCE SITTERS COMPLAIN AND ACT,SOMETHING BENEFICIAL TO ALL ONCOURSE BOOKMAKERS MIGHT HAPPEN!
By:
FOXY DONT EXPECT ANY HELP FROM THE ASSOCIATIONS REGARDING HAYDOCK OR ANY OTHER MINOR RING,UNLESS A DIRECTOR HAS A PICK NUMBER,FACT!
By:
there would be no chance of me going to haydock saturday even if it was open but for other books due to the clashes it is one of the best days ,they have just had food taken out of there mouths but as you say i would be silly of me to expect any help from the associations.

foxy, did you see an article the other day on who was the richest man in the UK - ?
he started life in a council house in your neck of the woods ![]() Born in 1952, Jim Ratcliffe grew up in a council house on Dunkerley Avenue in Failsworth, a small town between Manchester and Oldham. He was sent to Beverley Grammar School when his family moved to Yorkshire. As well as being football mad, he founded the school's industrial society during sixth form. He got a 2:1 degree in chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham. On his first day, he was embarrassed to see he was nearly at the bottom of a list of 99 undergraduates ranked by their A-level results. He worked for BP during a summer holiday after graduating and was offered a job. But he was fired after just three days because his boss had seen his medical report and wasn't keen on him working there with mild eczema. Ratcliffe went on to work as a trainee accountant at a pharmaceuticals company before moving to Esso then Courtaulds. In 1992 he mortgaged his house to buy BP's chemicals division for about £40 million. He only started his first business weeks before his 40th birthday and founded Ineos aged 45 in 1998. During the next 20 years he built his empire. Ratcliffe married his first wife Amanda Townson in 1985. The pair, who have two sons, divorced in 1995. He has a daughter with his second wife Alicia. Cutting a svelte figure, he does distance running and triathlons to keep himself in shape. Source: The Sunday Times |

Jim Ratcliffe, who founded chemical firm Ineos, topped the list with an estimated worth of £21.05bn - after coming 18th last year.

QUESTION TO BRBA ,HOW HAVE YOU ALLOWED TWO DIRECTORS WHO A VERY CLEAR CONFLICT OF INTEREST DO THE PONTY NEGOTIATIONS ON BEHALF OF ALL PONTY BOOKS???ANSWER,DID YOU SEE THE ROYAL WEDDING,WASNT THE WEATHER FANTASTIC!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
for once i can actually agree with something that factmachine says.
the BRBA are working hard at having good relationships with all racecourses and are succeeding and being respected by 90% unfortunately there are still 10% of which haydock park is one where we are making little progress. you don't say how your bookmaker liason meeting resulted there , factmachine. |
By:
no , i did not watch the royal wedding .
it is the silver ring that the racecourse wish to close , where i do not have any interest. for the record , my suggestions were that the boundary fence between tatts and the butts should be set at the very end of the stand , not where the racecourse now plan this to be. the management are keen to have some grassed area for picnics on sundays. |
By:
WELL DONE ADGE IM SURE THE BRBA MEMBERSHIP AS WELL AS THE OTHER ASSOCIATIONS THINK YOU AND CHRIS HAVE DONE A GREAT JOB!
By:
the clown at haydock saw fit to close the silver on easter saturday 2016 giving 2 days notice there was no reason ever given, people turned up with there families and picnic baskets only to be told they would need to pay extra and go in tatts and join in with the football songs.there was much uncertainty throughout that summer as to when the ring would be open, this easter saturday the people turned up to find they could come in but could not watch the racing as the viewing terrace was closed ,everybody was under the impression it would all be sorted out by this saturdays family fun day but no the haydock park race course manager has let many people down again some will probably find other interests on summer saturdays in the future.as long as haydock employ somebody with very little feel for running a race course then things all round can only get worse for almost everybody concerned.

"AS YOU HAVE SEEN WITH WASNOTS REPLY THEY WONT ANSWER A DIRECT QUESTION"
Hang on just a minute. Don't you go lumping me in with this. You asked me and I didn't have any information. I'm not just making stuff up and banding about wild accusations. There's enough of that on this thread already. |
By:
WASNOT,OK YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE PONTY SITUATION
,LETS ASSUME THESE ARE NOT WILD ACCUSATIONS AND ARE INDEED FACT WHICH THEY ARE,I WILL ASK THE QUESTION AGAIN,DO YOU THINK THE BRBA NEGOTIATORS HAVE ACTED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF PONTY BOOKMAKERS ????????? |
By:
WASNOT,HAVE THE BRBA NEGOTIATORS WITHHELD VITAL INFORMATION TO THERE MEMBERS AND OTHER PONTY BOOKS,AND PROSPERED WITH INFORMATION THAT THEY HAVE BEEN PRIVY TO WITH THE PROTECTION OF CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENTS???????????
By:
I have no idea fact. Ask them.
By:
WASNOT,IS IT TUESDAY TODAY ????????
![]() ![]() |
By:
yet another change of plan at haydock silver now open on saturday after yesterday informing everyone it was closed no mention on haydock website about it been open what a circus.
By:
perhaps they remembered it was family day ,the viewing terrace will still be closed however .
By:
foxy, will that small stand next to the main stand be open? Far better and much more civilised than that appalling stand and it's deafening noise.
By:
its open sparrow after they said it would not be yesterday, however you can only see the racing from the grass.
By:
128 POUND BADGE WHATS THAT ABOUT.HOPE ADGE HASNT BEEN NEGOCIATING ON OUR BEHALF HERE AS WELL
By:
and the gate open maxed
By:
Crazy foxy and they obviously couldn't care less about providing an alternative for others who might appreciate a little more comfort.
By:
sparrow most would consider jcr to be ahead of the game with the running of race courses however this place has slipped threw the net,the manager thinks the families prefer to pay extra and listen to liverpool and united fans carrying on.
By:
I would pay extra to go in that smaller enclosure. I couldn't believe how much better it was in there and actually being able to sit down with a cup of tea and have easy access to other facilities. I wouldn't go in that main stand for free!!
By:
PROBABLY CHANGE HIS MIND AGAIN BY SATURDAY
By:
that would only be about an even money shout maxed.
By:
sparrow its a smashing stand as you say you can sit down and have a cup of tea watch the race unfold when the terrace is open or get close to them on the rail without putting up with the out of football season crowd.
By:
you need to be careful what you wish for MaxED.......to date FIVE tattersalls list bookmakers have told me that in their mind ALL silver ring bookmakers should lose their pitches and investment totally if and when the enclosure is closed.
By:
charming
By:
just to be clear adge are you referring to ponty or haydock there ?
