Apologies, now i see what you mean.

I thought you were referring to the back bet at the bottom of my post.

Good luck with Queen Of Kalahari, i would be more than happy if it won for you Grin

Well done Andrew - I have followed this thread from Day 1 and have thoroughly enjoyed it (as I have said before) ....

Great selection again Andrew - amazing it went off at Evens.Shocked

My one worry was that it might get an easy lead from stall 1 so it was good the outsider prevented that from happening. Like on it's last run over C&D it looked beat a furlong out but then rallied at the death.

Excellent times very apt winner there. Cheers Andrew. Pleased the Germans scored for you late last night, made up for the near miss at Ascot. Will have to put in a bit of winding up at work tomorrow with the guys in Stockholm.

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated.

Been out this afternoon so I didn't see the lay race. The SP of the favourite was incredible, most of Yorkshire must have been on it. I know it's easy to state after the result is known, but evens was just crazy.

I noticed my back bet was beaten by a heavily backed stablemate. I sense MJ used it as 'bait' to get a better price on the fav, but that would be cynical wouldn't it ? Wink

A good win by England and in hindsight 2/9 was a gift.

I'm going to lay Colombia v Poland, 2.26 is far too short.

WD Cardenden and Crepello.

Luciano, don't be too hard on the Swedes Wink

Andrew - re Dr Richard Kimble

Johnston Junior was interviewed beforehand and said that the race was reopened so they thought they would put the horse in as it was a 20k race and they had nothing to lose .....

Crepello,

Thanks. I don't have racing channels here, so i wish he had sent me an email. Wink

I noticed his stablemate in the race, but he was conceding something like 21 lb. As the fav was heavily backed, it appears that one was the stable choice to win.

With a name like Doctor Richard Kimble, he should have known all about running and not getting caught Laugh

db,

Thanks.

49/59 = 83%, not so bad, but i was on 23/25 once (92%) i should have stopped then Laugh

Good morning Lampus and all.

A nice sunny day and many locals will be starting their semester period today. It's a Swedish right that everyone is allowed to take 4 consecutive weeks vacation in June to August, but most start in early July, it's called the 'industry' standard. Most personnel in Saab have 5 weeks paid vacation (not me) and some higher profile staff even have 6. Not much happens or gets done in July Grin

July is actually a good to visit if you want a relaxing time as many locals are in their summer houses, or further afield. Generally good weather, hotels are often cheaper and shopping areas are less crowded, some shops even close for the complete month.

Morning Ghost,

You're obviously having a lark Wink

I posted this on the wrong thread earlier

AOB let me down last night (or maybe it should be the other way around) but i sense he could have a good day at The Curragh today. Mount Tabora has been touted since the spring, but oddly enough he's drifted. I think Saxon Warrior will win the big one (Latrobe could be a lively outsider) and although RM has chosen the favourite (4.35) i prefer Land Force with Donnacha riding.

Think Fred may push Saxon to evens sometime today, but im not so sure, to me it just didnt stay at epsom simple as.

But im shyte at this gameLaugh

I'm going to be very kind to you all. I was luckily at Clive Cox's a couple of weeks pre Ascot and saw Swiss Chill gallop with Harry Angel. I will add that 48 hours later I lost £1000 on him, but he was very green and didn't stay 6f. Last Tuesday morning (18th) my friend from Cox's yard rang me and told me he worked 4.5f with Chagatai and went well clear of him. That horse is rated 90.

The yard are confident Swiss Chill wins today, I'm still very sore from it's debut but I am giving him another chance.

Reason for my posting on this thread is he just in Andrew's price range and has a 13L defeat on debut to his name in an open novice, and I feel Andrew may have been considering him as a lay and I wanted to steer him some info, which may make him think otherwise as the yard think he's a bit of a beast !

Ghost,

I'm cleaning my rusty pin as we speak Laugh

Several things didn't go right for Saxon Warrior in the Derby. The draw in 1 was a negative, he stumbled leaving the stall and lost around 1.5-2L so had to race from the rear. It was a fast pace and the time was good compared to others on the card.

He moved through the field slowy, staying just off the rail (no other option) and was travelling well enough approaching Tattenham corner in 6th only 4L off the pace. He moved off but was immediately hampered by DEB who cut across him and was full of running. As a consequence got left behind a wall of horses and lost momentum. He did start to run on, but far too late and never looked like winning.

The ground had been soft in the earlier part of the week, and although temperature and wind had assisted to produce good on the day, it may still have been a little tacky on top.

I wouldn't say he was an unlucky loser by any means, but i do feel he will stay 12f on good ground/firm and Epsom is not the easiest course to handle. He's an early foal (January) but didn't race until August, probably due to being a large framed horse and had to bulk up. He ran 3 times over 8f as a 2 year old, a couple of them on soft ground.

There were also posts regarding his well being prior to the race, although not confirmed by the stable. This is not a slur on domino in any way whatsoever, he does have contacts and i respect his opinion. If he did experience coughing (SW not domino) minor or otherwise, then he ran well, so maybe AOB thought his class would win on the day, who knows.

It's not a strong field by any means. He's the classiest, acts on the track, the only group I winner, 3lb ahead of the 2nd favourite Dee Ex Bee, 10 lb and more ahead of the rest and AOB (a superb record in the race) has several runners to control the tactics/pace. He has to make up 3L on DEB, but i feel we will see a different SW today.

If there is a negative, he's drawn in stall 2 (DEB in 1) but i feel he will race more prominent today, luck permitting.

He's obviously not a certainty and 8/11 is maybe a tad skinny for some, but those odds are there for a reason, and he could shorten. Maybe not the best 8/11 running today anyway, that appears to be at Newcastle, but i'm backing SW today. I also backed him on here @ 4.9 ante-post, albeit only for £56 (that's all that was up at the time). Good luck.

I can't post from Indonesia anyway, not even on the forum. I'm also in Singapore for a few days, but no BF access there either, although i've managed to get on the forum there at times oddly enough. I'm not bothered anyway, i want to spend quality time with my daughter who's studying at Uni there.

I wonder if RYAN wrote this?

Hoping the Warrior proves he's the best
17:15 - Saxon Warrior
I was very disappointed with him at Epsom. I know he didn't run badly to finish fourth there, but I expected a whole lot more. For whatever reason, he just didn't run his race, but if he comes back to his 2yo best and the form of his Guineas win then I think you see a much better performance. I think he is comfortably the best horse in the race, and I hope he proves that.
You have to give Dee Ex Bee plenty of respect after his second at Epsom but I do think he is very beatable, and I can't really get excited by much of the opposition if I am being honest. Old Persian improved to beat Rostropovich in the King Edward VII Stakes, but I think that form is some way detached from Classic-winning ability.

Aidan's other horses are solid types, and I don't think we saw the best of Delano Rooseveltbehind Old Persian at Ascot, as they went a hack canter there. A more evenly-run race here will see him in a much better light. I said before the Derby that I thought the Lingfield race in which Knight To Behold beat my Queen's Vase winner Kew Gardens was not to be underestimated, so perhaps the winner could figure here if proving more tractable, and the Gallinule 1-2 of Platinum Warrior and Latrobe are promising, improving and lightly-raced colts.
But if Saxon Warrior runs his race, I will be disappointed if he doesn't win. He is top class, and we certainly haven't lost faith in him one bit.

Ryan 100% wrote that.

Saxon Warrior wasn't right at Epsom, Ryan hints at it there but more than his jobs worth to confirm it. He knows he'll hack up today.
