Needs to be pulled in for that ride.  Horse was NEVER winning but what about that move off the final bend, when he put the horse thru the middle of the other 3.  Disgraceful.  As I said was never winning but he should be banned for that move

Did you really take 3-1 on a horse going from a novice to a Grade 1 on its 2nd start??

You really think Ruby Walsh is on here laying his mounts? I mean, seriously?

The phrase "never placed to challenge" used to feature regularly in form summaries and was replaced by the slightly less perjorative "never near to challenge". Everyone knew exactly whatth eformer meant. MC just used the defunct version as the comentary ended - I would like to think quite deliberately.

Do you have to have a bet on a horse to know if it was a non jigger or not?

Nothing to do with that.  Look at the bigger picture and u will understand what people are referring to.

Collector..... Nobody on this thread, as yet, has even mentioned backing the horse. Do YOU only comment when you have had a bet???  The ride was rancid, irrespective of jump in grade!!

Formbook or not,it wasn't given a chance to win imo, look at Madurai, same again to an extent but not as far back but might as well be in that class.

Muppets?  Horse was a non buzzer, and no attempt to disguise it either. Only a fool would suggest otherwise.

finding it hard to fathom why you would not try to win a grade 1 race.

Maybe i am too naive.

Lads give it up ffs, I'm not Rubys biggest fan, the horse never jumped a hurdle, and to suggest anything else is shameful, I can't believe the rubbish on this thread,ye need to get a grip.

One understands the disappointment when you punt Mullins and Walsh in the hope you have latched on to a good thing.
May i humbly suggest you look out for these little pointers
I have learned from such experiences.

First up, if the books are putting a ricci/mullins/walsh novice up at  3/1 then its probably not Douvan

Second look at the video form. At thurles Ruby had Riven Light tracking the pace before taking up the running 2 out. He was at it,  against a gigginstown NH bred Hardline who fell at the last. The issue in doubt up until then.
Hardline admittedly could be anything but a 1 from 3 record in bumpers suggests he is probably destined to jump a fence before long.
Walsh probably knew from Thurles that Riven Light is not going to be winning these novice hurdles in the manner that Vautour, Faugheen or others have done so let others get on with it.

Third, you can see a good few minutes before the off wether Ruby is going to pull his usual trick of grabbing the rail in an attempt to make all. They spend what amounts to an eternity circling around before the off.
If you want to back one of these mullins hotpots in the belief they are going to be up there and make most you need only to wait 3 or 4 mins b4 the start to lump on.

It was the move off the final bend.  U as an ex jockey should know this.

What's the excuse for running up the @rses of the other horses on the flat in home straight, workrider?

You can't blame the hurdles for that..

Horse was NEVER going to win, jumped like a drunk,to get him as near as he did was a miracle imo,I'm sure the horse will be sore in the morning , Ruby is the greatest I've ever seen and I've seen plenty. Fact is the billy hunt seldom does me a favor .

Deliberate move in behind other horses. Anyone defending that move needs to take up tiddlywinks. Same old same old. Non Trier, from start to finish. Just for the record, I layed it , cashed out when it drifted to 10's in running, and threw a bit back on when I saw how still the rodent was sitting. Could not believe the tens was available given how little Walsh was doing in the saddle. Seemed to have plenty underneath!! There is no way on earth you will EVER see that price available on anything on here, especially when the jockey is Ruby Walsh, sitting motionless. Unless........

You are short on brains it seems. I layed the horse because of the drift. When the opportunity arose, I took a profit and cashed out. ( Still with me???)  The price that then became available in running was too good to pass up considering how well the horse was travelling, even though at the rear! GET IT?????
