There was the poster who was obsessed with Best Mate who initiated a long,long thread around 2003/04 where he stated that his namesake was the best ever chaser. Of course, the large majority tried to dismantle his claims and all areas where examined, including the Timeform ratings given to Arkle and Flyingbolt. The poster was as stubborn as hell,stood his ground almost alone and would not be budged, often copying and pasting races from the form book. Whatever, it was one hell of a good thought provoking thread, even though the Best Mate bloke did sometimes lose it when he'd come on after presumably having a few. Sadly, the lack of similar threads now is another indicator that the genuine racing fans are dying off and not being replaced.

What happened to Kinky Devil/Deviant On The Loose etc ? He was a part-time DJ who ran an online radio station called Daily Dogs where he sometimes did interviews with forumites. I know he talked to Warwick and jonjo ( with whom he didn't get on ). Even yours truly was on but only as a warm-up act for cubone. |
