who backed her...it was totally inept, simple as

Of course it was, but what were you expecting?
She will learn as she goes along... the point is you will be aware what she is like when she rides again Wink

You would think first ride meant first time a jockey had sat on a horse the way some hide behind that,
She'll have done plenty work on the gallops and on that horse for what it's worth.

There was no excuse for that ride

The point is, you are complaining about a ride given to a horse by a jockey having here 1st ride.. saying she should be banned...

Where on here is my complaining ?
Where on the forum have i said she should be banned ?

Try reading the thread first before making accusations , fool .

you cannot learn as you go along in the public domain when you are not fit for purpose, there is no excuse in this day and age with the pony racing ,jock schools, that girl looked like she had never pushed a pram never mind ever been on an equicizer...you had an ex jock in the studio slagging it off which is as rare as rocking horse $hite...rides again, very much doubt it after that

It was  a class 6, amateur riders handicap at Lingfield. I'd be embarrassed to say I had a bet in the race, never mind coming on here moaning about it afterwards. Typical "blind fave" backers imo.

Can you stick a few more places on "Clowns League", Roida.

Do you need to have a bet on the race to have an opinion these days?
By:
s.kenbo

Not at all JD. There's a difference between voicing your unbiased opinion and moaning about losing money though.

I didn't watch the race myself, but I'm not at all shocked that a young girl had a bad ride on her first ever start.

Have to agree with s.kenbo. Why do people bet in these races?
By:
tomhunt
When: 19 Feb 16 19:04
no bet here but a class 6 or group 1 a winner is a winner something you'd be wise to learn

Most of my bets are in Class 6 or 7 races, but never amateur races.

most on here didn't bet in the race just expressing an opinion afterwards , mainly about the ineptitude of the rider of the second ....

Watch it kenbo, you might have a different opinion.

This first ride thing is nonsense. She'll have been riding horses against other horses for years, probably every morning.

No bet in race btw

Where is koi keeper ? Is he hiding in the depths and darkness of his pond hoping the thread will go awayyyy

First ever ride, Dr - Probably frightened of letting go of the reins.

Yes onlooker I was thinking that.

Frightened of losing her balance probably.

True. She'll never have let go of the riens on the gallops before being the workout rider for the stable....

The first ride thing isn't nonsense imo. Doing something in a field on a day to day basis is totally different to going out on the track for the first time. You've got the TV cameras on you, the crowds around you, and to add to it all you're on a short priced fave that's expected to win.

There's no guarantee she would have won if she had hit it a few times but it would have looked  better if she had.

Now we'll never know.

Looking at the performance of the jockey on the winner, if they'd have swopped places I think the result would have been the same.

She looked better than he did for most of the way.

Nonsense might be a bit strong but it's over used/milked

Nobody has mentioned that this horse found very little off the bridle lto after cruising in behind leaders and looking every inch the winner when taking it up. To be fair to the girl i thought she had given it a good ride right up until the final furlong where she showed limited effort to go past.

Dont be silly... I have said what I think.... never one to judge on one run/ride alone...

when you resort to name calling, the credibility goes, if you had any in the 1st place.

Perhaps if you had bothered to read the thread from the start you would not of jumped in with your various accusations .

I was replying to the thread in general, but you took exception....it ok, no big deal.

Your replying to the thread in general was 'lumping' all on the thread as backers and then complaining about the ride given to the horse , when this was not the case , but you assumed it was because you didn't read the thread properly and are now trying to worm your way out of it .............Wink

As stated on another thread, this was a race for AMATEUR RIDERS that had ridden LESS THAN 10 winners.  So they're all pretty inexperienced and some of them badly so.  It might even be fair to say that the odd one or two were sh1tting themselves and hanging on for dear life.

Unfortunately there's another one coming up on Wednesday, also at Lingfield - the 5:00, so it might be an idea if some of you don't bet on it.  It's probably best if you don't watch either as it's not very good for your health by the sound of it.

My job to know the programme and my brain doesn't go blank after midnight.  Apologies if that makes me a coont.  Apologies if you've done your conkers and are pocket-talking too.  Like I said, best give Wednesday's race a miss and 'stick to what you know' (good luck with that one).

By:

When: 20 Feb 16 12:27
thought not....NO BET means i didn't back the horse in question and therefore 'haven't done my conkers'...doing most races most days the race will probably 'fall in' to what i know best...i will worry about that about 2 mins before the race in 5 days
