no needs a large sock in his mouth .......... was clearly booked with chepstow in mind , when that was called off he still offered to come in to pick up his easy money by covering Lingers , probably had a 2 minute look at the racing post before he parked himself in the atr studio and started spewing out his cliche's and usual racing b0llox .........

makes you wonder who makes the decision to allow someone to join the gravy train racing media....yes ex jockey, but offers absolutely nothing else....must count his lucky stars every day all the gigs he has...

An Irish friend of mine who has known the family for some time says he is basically lazy and does no preparation before his gigs.
Also is a superior type who thinks he knows everything and everyone else is stupid.
Sums him up nicely.

Gets by with a few tired cliches and rarely, if ever, comments on the one thing you'd expect him to be qualified in i.e. race riding

Why is it that the people who employ him cannot see that he is unprepared and clueless into the bargain?

Haven't watched him today but noticed a few times lately that his way of not having to criticise a bad ride is to say 'when a jockey gets back to the weighing room he asks himself if there's anything he could've done different'. Total whitewash of course.

Not another M.Fitz thread. Cry

Surely the sharp minds of the Betfair forum let what he says go in one ear and out of the other?

I have never quite understood how he seems to be on the screen at least 5 days a week in one way or another. I mean fair enough send him to the track for one day a month when Nicky has ten runners entered up, but why is he parked in the studio talking about low grade all weather racing? He is absolutely awful on TV, and if they didn't print the racing post spotlight one day would have nothing to say all afternoon.....baffling why he is on so often

If people are stupid enough to keep paying him, he's gonna keep turning up ...and I don't blame him!

This is why I'd rather see MATT CHAPMAN on more. At least he liven's it up a bit.

A true professional and an honour to have THE greatest jockey to have ever lived grace our screens 5 days+ a week. Perhaps those who are not in employment and happen to see him all 5+ days are simply blinded by jealousy. Imagine Mick Fitz had ridden regularly for a decent trainer, he would have surpassed the 6k winners mark.
