Thought she spoke well and honestly, i think most people realise that she is light years behind Nina & katie but she is still young.

Bound to end up in the studio full time irish, get used to her. Photogenic, articulate and appeals to the younger set that advertisers want to reach and already a darling of the channel 4 team.If she replaces Fitz next week that would suit me !

The Morning Line this morning summed up why Ch4 have lost the plot and half their audience. Too many on the sofa and too much emphasis on personalities, reviews of year and cringe worthy predictions for 2016.  Segal on the sofa and he barely got a word out and certainly was not able to share his views on form or betting in any meaningful way. The big betting race handicap hurdle was not even discussed !

Unfortunately I think there is little chance of this changing with ITV in 2017.  Thios is a shame as I do think there is an audience out there for a saturday preview slot with some genuine experts and a format that allows proper discussion of form, betting and some of the wider issues with our sport - getting money on, closed accounts, whip rules, over dominance of some stables/owners making for uncompetitive racing etc

Take care

Fearless

Intelligent, articulate and a very capable jockey, still learning her trade. What's not to like.

I agree with Facts and Brian. She was far more articulate than most of the male jockeys (especially the younger ones) we get to see. Her answer on whether she sees herself as a role model for younger girls was particularly forthright.

"....I do think there is an audience out there for a saturday preview slot with some genuine experts and a format that allows proper discussion of form, betting and some of the wider issues"

Seems to be a question of getting the format right, trying to appeal to serious racing fans and also dumbing it down a bit for other people who might watch but are only half interested in racing.  It's hard to get the balance right and then screw up on both fronts.

Back to topic, Liz Kelly, I love her, very confident young lady, pretty intelligent too, excellent guest on the morning line. Some guests they have on are just not that interesting and have nothing positive to say, but she was very interesting and just said exactly what she thought in a clear way.

She has notions beyond her station as conveyed by her condescending remarks about the standard of riding in lady riders races. She was right but she's not much better if at all, it's the rides she's being gifted.

If she was capable, she would get more outside rides. The truth of is she is in a privileged position because of her step father, any competent jockey would have been able to steer home Teafortwo.

I didn't think she was that articulate but perhaps in terms of jockey's standards. The jockeycam where she was screaming before she even jumped the last showed a lack of composure.

Were any of the predictions for 2016 a decent price?

Evs fav for Guineas?  4/1 shot in the Queen Mother?  Odds on Champion Hurdle fav?  I can't recall the other.

If I'd have been there I'd have given Midterm to win The Derby.

She was about to become the first Woman jockey to win.a Grade 1 NH race. She had every right to scream to the heavens  ffs !!

I have no idea about Ms Kelly's vital statistics but STK is spot on insofar as they would love to see her showing off her feminine attributes. We've seen the marketing types do so before with the likes of Turner, Milczarek and, more recently, Pendleton.

If STK is saying 't!ts oot' then I agree his post was moronic. He didn't explicitly say that though, so you might owe him an apology.

I don't think Facts likes the female anatomy. We're men of the world Facts. By all means lobby Channel Four to stick a Chippendale on there with some chip fat rubbed into their buttocks if that's your thing.

On the lady in question she seems delightful. Full of enthusiasm. She clearly loves what she does and is more than capable of doing it competently.
